baobab = happiness

Posted: March 20th, 2008

Just a little update on the order I placed at baobab – www.baobab.com.au back in January (using the KSF discount code of course! That one is now expired, but hang loose, I’m working on another great deal!)

Because I am a newbie to the joys of baobab, I didn’t want to get in too deep y’know? So I decided to go for sale items first to test the water. I also ordered a size up so that the items I ordered will still fit next Summer. (I am so glad I did get some extra Summer-y items with the weather being what it has been!!)

The whole experience was excellent, just easy, and beautiful all round.

The website is a delight to use with excellent navigation and functionality, and the design and photography is outstanding; it’s really easy to ‘see’ the products. I especially like the way baobab has the thumbnails of colourway options and pics of kids wearing the gear. It really puts it in context for me, and demonstrates how it ‘works’.

The checkout process was a breeze too. Enter the code, discount goes in: ‘ding’! That always makes me smile. I also got a nicely laid out confirmation email with my chosen pieces and amount paid nicely detailed.

The parcel was here in two days, and here’s what was inside:

lotus-dress.jpgdress_lotus.jpgbaobab ‘Lotus Dress’ ON SALE for $35.20

shot09-029.jpgdress_scoobie.jpgbaobab ‘Scoobie Dress’ ON SALE $32.95

NOTE: You can see my own two girls wearing the Lotus and Scoobie dresses in the teeny tiny pic on my about page. These dresses are a divine light cotton that is perfect for warmer weather. I LOVE the red piping. It’s just the right colour of red.

anyaharper.jpgdress_swallows1-03.jpgbaobab ‘Flock of Swallows’ Dress ON SALE for $29.40

Look at the pic of these girls wearing this dress. That’s how I want my girls to look and live: with passion, confidence and creative style. I got just one of these dresses as I wanted to see what the quality was like. It’s fab. I’m going back for more!! No need to iron these babies, or worry about the kids wearing hopelessly crumpled things, as this dress can take the rough treatment, and comes out of it smiling – crush resistant = PERFECT! Love the print too. I’m kinda nuts about birds at the moment…it’s been a long moment actually, and I don’t see it ever ending…

toddlerpj-01.jpgnightie_green.jpgbaobab Nightie ON SALE for $27.15

Ok, I hope you’re open to latitude on the day-wear/night-wear front, because my girls wear this ‘nightie’ as a dress for daytime. It’s way too pretty to be just for bed, and I always love things that do double duty…

I must tell you that I am deeply smitten with baobab’s new season’s collection, and now I know how good the quality is, and what the sizing is like (true to size), I’m confident to go ahead and really give the credit card a lashing.

Stay tuned for the aftermath of that ;)

In the meantime, head over to baobab to have a browse around (don’t forget the sale section! There’s LOTS of boys and girls goodies from size 0-4 to choose from), and plan your purchases so you’re ready to pounce when I next report a good deal.
