I’m a big lover of the double-duty product, but triple-duty really makes my eyes light up.

Richard Latham, a New Zealand Dad who left his marketing career behind to retrain as an industrial engineer, has hit the jackpot with the fabulous ‘Wishbone‘ running bike (pedal-less bikes huge in Europe, which remove the need for training wheel when your child moves to a pedalled two-wheeler), which converts to three different sizes to grown with your child,  making it effectively three bikes in one.

The fun starts at age 1, or as soon as your child can walk, as a three-wheeled trike. It converts to a two-wheeled running bike as the child grows, and when your child reaches four to five years of age, you flip the ‘wishbone’ frame to upscale the bike.

I just love this bike: lasting much longer than a regular running bike, this bike is great value for money, and is also eco-friendly, being less demanding on natural resources.

On the subject of earth-friendliness, the Wishbone Bike has 60% post-consumer recycled plastic wheels, is made from sustainably managed woods and is bonded and finished with eco-friendly products.  The box it comes in, and all printed materials that come with the bike are recycled, and printed with non-toxic inks. The Wishbone Bike also meets all current Australian and New Zealand safety standards.

The Wishbone Bike is available locally from Shop Until for $295.00, including delivery, Australia-wide.

Ah, don’t you wish you were a kid again?

Watch this space for more news on Wishbone Design: there are plans to release a rocking horse, pedal car, cot and a high chair.
