A Stitch In Time: Character Softies at Mummysam

I have just discovered the delights of Etsy seller Mummysam, and I just had to share!

Mummysam is the creative outlet for Artist and Mum of two, Samantha Cotterill. Samantha uses freehand embroidery techniques to create some pretty special softies, using natural fibres of wool felt, pure lambswool stuffing, and cotton.

Despite living in upstate New York, Samantha’s work has a decidely English feel, with red telephone boxes, Milk Bars and folks with names like Murray, Ninny and Apricot, who look like they have just survived the war (not in a depressing way, but in a stoic, silent strength kinda way).

Samantha sells her unique softies, as well as prints and wall hangings, from her Etsy store. Check out Samantha’s lovely blog for more info on her creative life.

1. Ninny $US75.00
2. Telephone Booth $US40.00
3. Murray $US35.00
4. Apricot $US50.00
5. The choir boys sing to their beloved wagon $US15.00
6. Milly Oh Milly $US30.00
7. The Milk Shop $US75.00

Mummysam ships internationally. Please check her Etsy store for postage and delivery information.
