Sleep Tight, Sleep Chic 2009: Part 1 – Baby and Kids Bedlinen Update
Posted: June 19th, 2009Today Miki brings you an update on the baby and kids cot and bedlinen scene. There are so many new and gorgeous quality options to choose from (I’ll take two of everything, please!) Stay tuned for part 2, coming next Friday for more wonderful options.
If you’re champing at the bit, you can read the 2008 reportage on bedlinen in the meantime: Read Part One read Part Two.

By know you’re probably aware of my baby and kids shoe fetish, but I’m sharing with ou today my other great passion: bedlinen. I love kids’ bedding. I can’t get enough of it, and it’s going to break my heart when my children are old enough to insist that actually, they really want that licensed character doona sets instead of the beautiful ones I want to buy for them.
Until that sad day arrives I am going to continue to indulge my passion to the fullest
Today I present for your consideration a few absolute stunners. First up is Three Little Trees, who are making quite a splash on the fashion front at the moment, with their new Japanese-inspired linen sets. The Japanese Flower print for girls and the Flying Bird print for boys are über cool and will make any bedroom ooze with chic. Be prepared to buy a Japanese tea set for your daughter and martial arts lessons for your son (or possibly vice versa) if you go down this path; Japanese design and culture is addictive! (Hot hint: Three Little Trees Ichi Ni cot bedding is heavily discounted at 9 Months Waiting right now!)
Cult German designer Graziela Preisner and her daughter, Nina, have just re-released their original 1970’s print byGraziela linen set. Blazing with colour, this range includes not just bedlinen but room accessories too, even nightwear! It’s currently 15% off using the code ‘0609′ on the byGraziela site (code expires 30 June ‘09), and postage to Australia works out at around AU$50 for a set of linen – so for a single bed set you’re looking at around AU$150 all up including delivery.
Another honourable mention today is the Coco & Eli cot bedding sets, available exclusively from The Hip Infant. I have in fact just bought one of these sets for my soon-to-arrive baby, and I absolutely love it. The 100% cotton fabric is stretchy and soft, and the colours and design are gorgeous. I made up the cot with it today and spent about half an hour just happily fussing over it – but maybe I shouldn’t admit that on the internet…
KAS Kids doona sets are currently 20% off at The Little Kidz Closet, and it’s a great chance to snap up this beautiful brand. Classic children’s designs (e.g., trucks and boats for boys and apples and birds for girls) are given a new lease on life with this brand, and the results are really quite beautiful. There’s a range of stylish accessories too.
Lastly, crisp and stylish British brand Olli & Lime is now available at ele-ahbaant so you no longer have to source it from overseas. A surefire favourite for anyone who’s not a fan of cutesy bunnies and flowers on their kids’ bedlinen, Olli & Lime designs are perfect for the modern babe.
