Today is Jeans for Genes Day, the major fundraising event of the Children’s Medical Research Institute (CRMI). The CMRI work towards prevention and better treatments for the one in twenty Australian children that are born with some form of genetic fault or disorder.
As well as wearing your jeans today and making a donation to the Jeans for Genes campaign, you can also buy merchandise to show your support (check here for where to buy) or if you are Melbourne City, you can take part in the World’s Largest Gathering of People in Jeans, to be held in Federation Square, Melbourne, today between 12-2pm.
The Jeans for Genes site states that:
“As the crowd swells, everyone in jeans and blue poncho’s will be rallied together to form a gigantic pair of ‘human jeans’ to raise awareness of children with genetic disorders and promote the work of Children’s Medical Research Institute (CMRI).”
WOW!! How cool is *that*?? To attend the event, you need to REGISTER HERE, and then rock up to Federation Square at lunchtime today in your jeans to take your place in this history making, aware-mess raising, and hugely fun event.
