Terrible Tusks And Terrible Claws: AAARGH, it’s Trunki Gruffalo!

How freakin’ *cute* is this?!  Our favourite little wheeled travel suitcase brand, Trunki, have just released their third new limited edition design, and this one sets new standards for adorableness: helloooooo Trunki Gruffalo!

Yep, you guessed it – based on the much-loved children’s books by Julia Donaldson, the new Trunki has terrible tusks and terrible claws, and terrible teeth in his terrible jaws…  Luckily he’s also so goofily sweet that every child (and their parents) will fall head over heels in love with him!

While we’re on the topic of Trunki, I’ve discovered that the Trunki website has some brilliant FREE resources for those travelling with kids. Download colouring in pages, travel journals, Trunki postcards and all sorts of other activities to keep the rugrats occupied while they’re on that plane, train, bus or car.  The activities have all been created in collaboration with Lizzie Newell, a Quality Advisor for Early Years with over 20 years’ experience in early years education, and they’re all totally FREE! Super!

No word yet on when we’ll see Trunki Gruffalo in our neck of the woods, but we’ll let you know as soon as he is in sight. In the meantime enjoy the eye candy!

“Where did you get that?” are five words that are sure to make our pride swell as we share the origins of our little ones newest outfit.

With that in mind, Toni and Melony of Where Did You Get That? – www.wheredidyougetthat.com.au - have developed their own little haven of select pieces and labels that are each sure to draw oohs and ahhs from your friends and strangers alike.

Always on the look out for a stylish addition to my daughter’s wardrobe, I have been dazzled by the Chic by Sha Pettiskirts which have just arrived at Where Did You Get That? and are suitable for babies right up to tweens! Vintage lace, soft chiffon and satin – oh my!

For a summer chill out by the beach or pool, check out the Girls 4 Sport swimwear range and the new ‘skort’ style swim bottoms (short skirt with built in briefs). The tested fabrics are rated at the maximum of SPF 50+ and block at least 98% of UVA/UVB rays and Chlorine resistant. Or, for cute little one-piece bathers, the new Stella Cove line up is delightful.

Finding canvas shoes for summer that are funky yet functional can be a real issue as summer approaches – enter the new season Morgan and Milo shoes which are now available in larger sizes (7.5-13).  The flame versions will ensure your poppet speeds along, or the Mary Janes is sure to make your daughter ‘sparkle’.

Are you looking at a Crazy Fort to add to the toy collection this Christmas? The  sturdy life sized construction set will entertain your kids for hours on end.  Teamed with the Crazy Fort Lights they can enclose it totally with a blanket and have their own little camp out! But be quick, stock is limited.

One of my best purchases this year has been my Foogo straw bottles, and recently the funtainers for their colorful patterns.  They keep the kidlets water cool right through the day, even when I’ve left them in the car for an hour or two! As well as stocking them, Where Did You Get That?, are now also stocking the replacement straws which guarantees ongoing use of your Foogo.

If you are interested in bargains check out the SALE section where you will find 50% off all winter and last summer fashion.  Where Did You Get That? have also added a new category: the “Grand 40% OFF SALE” where you will pick up bargains from Aden & Anais, Bella Tunno – including laminated aprons, binkers etc, some Djeco mobiles, and zid zid belts and bags.

A big attraction for me is the Super Swimwear Sale with up to 80% off last season’s styles while stocks last only!! Get your Floaties on and swim on over!

Très Chic Très Bon: Le Triomphe des Rose Desbois

……………………………………………………………………………………………………

When we think of fashion and its origins we are automatically drawn to the French and their capital – Paris.  Their flair for whipping together an outfit and making it look altogether uncomplicated, yet smart, is something they seem to achieve effortlessly.

A stunning example of French style is girls-wear label Rose Desbois – www.rosedesbois.fr(pronounced Roz day-BWAH) which creates outfits for girls from newborn up to 10 years from a range of luxury materials that are the embodiment of Parisian Chic.

Rose Desbois opened their first boutique in Paris XVlle near Monveau Park, France in December 2008, and the label is already receiving rave reviews with mentions in fashion bible French Vogue and women’s magazine Marie Claire (France).

The label’s designer Chrystelle Desbois is a graduate of ESMOD‐Paris (the first in the International fashion university group). The materials Chrystelle uses to construct her garments are sourced largely from  France or Italy. Fabrics include velvet and cashmere, are used and many of the items are embroidered or knitted by hand. All pieces are manufactured in France.

The new Kids Collection Autumn‐Winter 2009/10 features caramel coloured wools, chocolate and mocha velvet and coffee‐coloured flannel. I found myself in awe at their craftsmanship and panache (and also at their prices, which start at a low 36 Euros).

Stocked in a small number of high-end stores in London, New York, Italy and Japan, as well as its own fashion house in Paris, Rose Debois is yet to take the Australian market, but will be available online at the new virtual store opening soon. If you can’t wait, you can contact the store directly via email at info.rosedesbois@orange.frRose Desbois happily ship to Australia and beyond.

Please enquire for postage rates and delivery information.
