Boots feature a lot in my childhood memories. From the navy gumboots with red soles (there were limited styles and colours back then) to the 10-up cherry Doc Martens that I blew my entire first pay cheque on, there was always a pair in my cupboard. Boots are, to me anyway, a winter staple. They provide protection from the elements and can jazz up a winter outfit.
These days, boots are available in a wealth of colour and sizes. Ankle or knee high; rubber, vinyl or leather; patterned or block coloured – the choices are endless.
Whether they are bought to prevent wet feet whilst dodging puddles during a frantic dash from the car to a the shops; to pretty up a skirt; for running around it the back yard or just for comfort, they may as well be stylish!
