I was doing a little bit of web surfing, passing the time waiting for an appointment, actually, when I came across a Bakker Made with Love – www.bakkermadewithlove.com – satchel.

It was love at first sight! I almost felt myself drawn into a rabbithole and taken into one of the  British schoolgirl novels I read as a youngster. (I feel certain that this is the kind of satchel that Trixie Belden, or even one of the Famous Five, took to school when they were taking time off from their adventures).

Produced by French couple David and Valerie Bakker and their family, currently residing in Bali, Bakker Made With Love makes further wonders too: toys, clothing, jewellery, lighting, bibs, as well as various styles of bags, and they put a wonderful spin all their own on all these things.

This seriously hip label has been picked up by many French and UK stockists; currently, Bakker Made with Love is not available in Australia. It’s one of the better kept secrets of the world of designer kids online shopping.  It has a huge range of threads by top kids brands at astonishingly small prices, and just about every single thing on the site is half price or below.  And yes, it has a big range of sizes available in nearly everything, and these pieces are the genuine, oh-so-hip, article.

What could be more delicious than a store fully stocked with winter goodies just when the clouds are starting to blow in across the sky? Boots feature a lot in my childhood memories.
