I am super excited to share today’s find with you because I think it just might be the start of something new and amazing!
Japanese company’s Kodansha and Mobile Art Lab have joined forces to create this wonderous new creation: the PhoneBook. The PhoneBook is a hybrid traditional children’s book and high-tech application which utilises the capabilities of iPhone and iPod touch applications to become fully interactive.
POPO and MOMO Ride! Ride! is a Phone + a book and is available on Amazon Japan for 2,980 Yen (approx. $AUD38.00). It comes with foam inserts within the book to keep the iPhone or iPod touch secure while it plays animated, interactive sequences matching the printed artwork and music with (English) vocals. After purchasing the book, you can download the free PhoneBook – Ride! Ride! app from the iTunes App Store. You can read and play 6 different situations – Private Room, Train, Airplane, Submarine, Spaceship, and Living Room – with this one application.
