The Powerhouse Science + Design Museum, located in Darling Harbour, Sydney, is undoubtedly one of the finest playgrounds of education and fun on the planet. A delight for adults and kids alike, this remarkable centre challenges, informs and amazes with it’s hands-on focus.

If you’re not located in Sydney, then you’ll be pleased to know that there are a raft of fine and fun resources for kids online free for the taking on the Play at Powerhouse website.

Online you’ll find a calendar of events – take note, Sydneysiders, of the upcoming school holiday program -  games and, my favourite section Make and Do, which is jam packed with science experiments, colouring in sheets and very appealing, and easy to execute, craft projects which come with full instructions and printable templates.

All the projects pictured below can be found in the Make and Do section. Don’t they look fabulous? Importantly, they’re all ultra *easy* to make. Enjoy!

Right now I am developing a plan for Miss N’s big girl room. She has recently hit that milestone in her development where she is moving from a cot to a “big girl” bed (or rather, it is time for her to move out of our room!!). As a working mum, I want to alleviate the complication of sourcing items from lots of different places. I want to piece together items that compliment each other, are stylish and above all, are functional. Where oh where could I find such a place?

There are few things that get me more excited than a Baobab sale. My kids just about live in Baobab, and that may sound like an exaggeration but when I think through it, they have both worn at least one Baobab item every single day this week!  It’s very hard to beat: soft, comfy, washes up so well and it looks fantastic.

I can personally recommend the Cuff Pants as my kids both love theirs.  My youngest has the Stripe Cuff Pant, and Master Nearly-Three has the same style in Charcoal. The pants go beautifully with their numerous Baobab tees and hoodies!  For girls I think the Lilac Top and Purple A Line Skirt pictured at #10 and #11 below are just too gorgeous for words.  I just wish I could get them in my size (hint, hint, Belinda!)
