Once upon a time an infusion of experience spent in costume design, feature film production, architecture and interior design was mixed together with the joy of raising two gorgeous girls to evolve into a wonderfully eclectic, original and divine creative collaboration that would be named Paper Wings – www.paperwings.com.au.
Created in the Byron Bay hinterland in the Mullumbimby NSW studio of Michelle Fallon and Jason Gibaud, only the finest of premium natural fibres are selected to create the pieces that form the Paper Wings Spring Summer 2010 collection. Drawing on past and present fashion ideas, Paper Wings create pieces that are almost contradictions – they are familiar yet completely original. You will second glance dresses that remind you of the 80s with a much needed modern twist; can-can dresses that retain a childish quality perfect for our daughters; pleats and ruching that eschew fussiness. To ensure the highest level of quality, each piece in this awe-inspiring collection is individually manufactured and hand finished to produce wearable masterpieces for girls from 2-10 years.
Mum’s of baby girls have reason to celebrate this season, too, with the launch of Paper Wings’ Little Wings range for babies from birth to 2 years. Created for infants from organic cotton jersey to ensure softness on your babe’s delicate skin, the colour palette incorporates subdued thistle pink, cream, grey marle and a boisterous red. There is a hint of magic in every piece which is reminiscent of an Enid Blyton novel if you ask me, with fairies and pixies fluttering here and there, and an over all feeling of magnificence.
