The secret of a stylish wardrobe is not neccesarily the procurement of as many latest seasonal pieces as you can lay your hands on, but the steady gathering of staples mixed with statement pieces. I’m a little obsesssed with kids fashion (no suprises there) but with a limited budget to spend on the creation of my kidlets wardrobe, I have taken to writing “wish lists” and slowly but steadily gathering pieces as they come on sale for the remainder of the season and into the following year. I must admit, at the start of the season I do lash out on one or two statement pieces for the kidlets wardrobe, but I also grab the opportunity to spend up big on the passing seasons goodies at the discounted prices.

Cornflowerblue – www.cornflowerblue.com.au – stocks so many pieces of loveliness that I’m always unsure where to start! A large portion of my wishlist can be found within their pages and I routinely check back to see what’s new on the site.

Now is the time to stock up organic and ethically made garments ready for next year (or if you’re in Northern Australia – for the rest of the year) with CFB summer 2011 stock now reduced by up to 75% – nothing is over $30, while stocks last!  You’ll find three price points – $10, $20 and $30 and all items are marked accordingly: browse through the menus of your choice on the site to locate sale pieces. Shop til you drop across the sale and also receive FREE postage Australia wide when you spend $50.00 or more (before postage charges). Enter code KSF_MEGA at checkout to redeem until 28 February 2011. Cornflowerblue will also donate $1.00 from every sale to the Queensland Flood and Cyclone Victims.

The Adventures of Pippa Little: A Magical Label for Little Girls

Some of my favourite books as a child were written by Enid Blyton. Her stories transported me to magical places and I longed for a magic wishing chair or a tree in our backyard which was full of magical creatures and rotating cities at its peak. New Australian label Pippa Little – www.pippalittle.com , a range for little girls 0-4 years, somehow brings all these memories flooding back. The range is fun, quirky, magical with a pinch of mischievousness. Made entirely in Sydney, Australia, with many of the fabrics hand painted by the designer, this label will be one to look out from when sourcing a truly unique outfit for your little princess.

You can shop by adventure (Ruby’s Rodeo, Daisy Duke’s Picnic, Tia’s Tea Party) from the current range with prices from $29.00, or hold out for the upcoming winter collection. Mum’s can spoil themselves with a shop at Big Sister site Pippa Shop.

I am a card carrying lover of handmade and independent designers. The power vested in the objects created from nothing and stitched or inked from the designers hand echoes through the lifetime of the object. Most of these products are one-offs and individual works of art and are sure to be well-loved by their recipients

Sites like Etsy are literally a treasure chest of the cool and the creative and it is a great pleasure for me to visit  and uncover some of the most beautiful, whimsical and creative products available. Here are some of my latest favourites.

Where Did You Get That AW11 Fashion? New Arrivals, FREE Post Offer & Sale Items Starting at $5

With the sun beating down outside and the humidity at levels barely survivable for humans, it can seem a little bit crazy for Autumn/Winter 2011 to be arriving in-stores.  But listen to my point of view on this one: having the winter stock arriving now is *wonderful!*  Just when I’m starting to be a bit over summer and the humidity and the mozzies and sand in everything and the way my pillowcase smells of sunscreen no matter how often I wash it, all these glorious autumn and winter fashions start showing up in the stores I love, and just looking at them feels like a cool breeze blowing across my face. I’m getting excited about the approaching colder weather already!

Where Did You Get That? – www.wheredidyougetthat.com.au – has just become a winter wonderland with of AW11 fashions from Claesen’s, Daily Tea, Tea Collection, Tommy Rocket and Two Belles all now in store and ready to buy.  I’m loving Two Belles Show Horse Tee pictured at #2 below, and also the Daily Tea Paisley Pony Tee next to it at #3 which carries on the equestrian theme.  I predict that Tea Collection’s Girls Croatian Floral Hoodie will be a sell-out piece this winter – team it with the Straight Leg Rainbow Warrior Jeans by Two Belles for an urban look, or go comfy and cheery with the Daily Tea Girls Peg Leg Leggings in Berry. Plus did you see the Claesen’s Girls Herringbone Jacket?  Swoon!

For boys I am *loving* the Claesen’s Boys Argyle Tee which is just the right blend of playful and cool.  Daily Tea‘s nature inspired tees never fail to make me covet them, and since they’re so well priced I always snap up a few!  Plus I had to include the Tommy Rocket Nine Robot Jersey Hoodie, partly because I think it’s awesome, but mainly because my Master A was looking over my shoulder just now and insisted that it be shown in the images because it’s his ‘most favouritist’.  Can’t argue with that.

Buy two or more items of new AW11 fashion at Where Did You Get That? and receive FREE postage Australia-wide. Just pop two or more new winter fashion 2011 items into your shopping cart and select the ***WINTER 2011 FASHION FREE POST OFFER*** in shipping options at checkout to receive your free delivery wherever you are in Australia until 25 February 2011. Also, don’t miss your chance to scoop hot bargains in the summer fashion category, which is all marked down by 40%-50%, and the clearance section, which is bargain central with previous seasons’ kids fashion starting just $5!
