The school holidays are nearly here, and winter often provides a few school-free days for sick children, so we thought it might be a great time to bring you a selection of boredom busting activity books for kids.

Sticker books have always been a fun activity to pass the time, but this selection includes some other great books that give children lots of ideas and activities to enjoy in their own way. One of our family favourites is How to be an Explorer of the World, this is a great book full of ideas and new ways to explore the environment. My eldest son has dipped in and out of this book many times and created collections, art works and inventions inspired by the pages in the book.

If I was to pick a time of day that always makes me fill with love, happiness and sheer joy, it would have to be the moment that I step foot inside my door after a day at work. I currently have three family members living it up in France. I am particularly excited for my mother-in-law (a French teacher) because she has always wanted to travel to France and now has 5 lovely weeks to travel the country with her husband by her side – living her dream.
