Mesmerizing, breathtaking and seriously delectable were words that instantly came to mind when I first caught a glimpse of the Paper Wings and Little Wings Summer 2011/12 look-books.
Mixing frills, original prints, ruffles and a palette of neutrals with splashes of vibrant reds and blues is flamboyant, feminine and just quirky enough to give it an edge over other mainstream labels. In fact, the range is reminiscent of wearable high couture for children. I certainly think this Australian label will outclass any French label this year.
Paper Wings has an element of theatre about it. No surprise when you discover that designers Michelle Fallon and Jason Gibaud’s background is in costume design, feature film production, architecture and interior design. Selecting premium natural fibres, the duo create fashion masterpieces for babies right up to tweens. The only issue you will have is knowing which piece to choose – I want them all, but I am particularly loving the horse prints.
Paper Wings are available at a number of stockists including Cornflower Blue, Buckets & Spades, Charlie’s Bucket and The Little Kidz Closet. This new season will be available this spring and I can hardly wait!
