I’m lucky enough to be married to a terrific chef who will always volunteer to cook when 5 o’clock comes around. Growing up in Dublin, I recall the regular visits to the Start Rite shop, where we’d have our feet carefully measured in a fabulous old foot fitting machine. It could have been something straight out of a Roald Dahl story, but we always came away with a pair of shiny new shoes.
