Before the kidlets arrived one of my favourite pastimes was a bit of retail therapy. I used to love browsing through the stores, putting outfits together in my mind and basically just wandering like a love sick puppy from rack to rack. These days my love of shopping still remains. Melbournites you are in for a treat! Back in June KidStyleFile covered the quirky and upbeat Sydney based kids’ band that is Electric Lunchbox – www.electriclunchboxmusic.com, and we are excited to report that they will be gracing the stage of Northcote Uniting Church on 3pm Saturday October 29, 2011.

Husband and wife duo, Jayde Bond & Steve Shanahan, write all of their songs themselves…many from their experiences as a mum and dad of their brood of 3 kids (the youngest was born in the back of an ambulance at 4am and yes, there’s  a song about that too!). They have a number of influences including 50′s Rock ‘N’ Roll, Country, Motown, Doo-Wop and even Spaghetti-Western which have melded together perfectly to create a dynamo music experience for kids and adults alike.

My family and I attended their last SELL OUT concert here in Sydney and it was a real hoot. I think every single kidlet bounced around the dance floor jiving to the beats that made up such songs as ‘Prawn Crackers’ and ‘Bopping Up To The Moon’. The ‘coolest mum and dad in Marrickville’ won’t just have you tapping your foot, you’ll be shimmying all over the place! When it comes to shoes for little feet, quality is paramount.  Babies’ and toddlers’ feet are formed mostly of cartilage rather than bone, and as such they’re very easily moulded. Having shoes that fit properly and are well designed for delicate, growing feet is absolutely vital.

When I was a kid, shoes that were high quality and good for feet also meant ugly, but luckily that’s no longer the case!
