Space Hopper, Skippyball Kangaroo Ball, Hippity Hip, Hop Ball, Hoppity Ho – call it what you will, I think that famous giant orange bouncer of my childhood was one of my all time favourite toys growing up. Looking back I’m not quite sure what it was about it, perhaps the crazy ear handles or the basic fun of the action? Whatever it was, I’m secretly thrilled to see it back in action, thanks to Ridleys House of Novelties.
I’m a big fan of retro toys that mix traditional quality with old school charm. Ridley’s range of pure nostalgia covers favourite games, toys and those old jokes that never seem to go out of fashion. Whoopie cushions, glass marbles, the ever entertaining slinky and another firm favourite, the good old fashioned harmonica. Trying to choose between all these great toys is going to be the biggest problem, I’m not sure how I’m going to get past buying them all!
