The lively jig of feet…the beating of a lone drum….and the frenzied tune of the clarinet and accordion bring the circle of dancers into a mesmerising blur to onlookers. On the outer rim, elders capture the audience of the youngsters with stories of old. Spellbound, the children sit….the music and dancing providing a surreal background to the tales of past generations. Swirling colours, flouncing skirts, patterns of obundance combine. A woodland feast….a gypsy celebration.
Paper Wings – www.paperwings.com.au – Winter 2012 conjures up images of the romanticised gypsies of our childhood storybooks with a little faerie sprinkled in to create a collection that will bewitch you, charm you and have you wanting almost every piece for your daughter’s wardrobe. The flamboyancy of the label brings an edginess to Australian kids style, with designers Michelle Fallon and Jason Gibaud’s background in costume design, feature film production, architecture and interior design visible throughout the pieces.
Paper Wings pieces are available in sizes 2-10 years. Look out for the first drop coming soon at Buckets & Spades, Cornflowerblue and Little Pinwheel.
Stay tuned for our sneak preview of the ‘Little Wings’ Winter 2012 collection for girls from 0-2 years coming tomorrow.
