This weekend all eyes have been on the stellar international children’s fair Playtime New York. Celebrating its fourth year, this is one show that shouldn’t be missed if you are in any way serious about innovation in both fashion and decor for kids.

Playtime New York has grown even bigger than this time last year, with up to 100 collections now available for traders to choose from. The fairs travel the world and will be back in Paris in July this year. Playtime also makes a major impact on the Tokyo maternity and kids market, appearing in February of each year.

But for those who can’t make it to the Big Apple, we’ve put together our favourites just for you. Some names may be familiar to KidStyleFile readers, like the gorgeous Bobo Choses and ESP No.1 labels. But what also caught our eye was the supercool Sunbirds, whose comfortable stylish clothing is full of funk and street style creativity. I’m also totally in love with Belgian brand Morley whose colour combinations and retro whimsy are just hard to beat. If you’re a big fan of dressing your girls in pretty day dresses, then look no further than Indian rooted fashion brand Ode or environmentally conscious Nico Nico.

Something I also love about  Playtime New York is the artistic input, and this year the illustrations are thanks to the talent of Belgian artist Oreli. She sells some of her work online. Another great artist who is actually taking part in the fair is Canadian brand Raplapla. Just head over to their website to sneak a peak at the wonderful world they’ve created in downtown Montreal. Cloth toys designed to be hugged, and sewn to be tugged, they are quite simply, génial!
