When I was about 8 years old my teacher reported that I squinted when reading. My mum whisked me away to an optometrist where astigmatism was promptly diagnosed and a prescription for glasses written. I tried on a bunch of glasses (remember this was *ahem* twentyish years ago) and I refused to wear any of them! They just weren’t me – even the ones where they’d tried to style them up with a butterfly. So my mum bought her preference, and they stayed hidden within my pencil case for the next few years, never to see the light of day.
The French know that style is the key to convincing our young ones that glasses can be a fashion accessory and a visual aid. The Very French Gangsters - www.veryfrenchgangsters.com - collection consists of a whole bunch of chic choices for the discerning youngster from 3- 10 years in a variety of colours and styles.
Karoline Botherel-Bolzinger is the designer behind the label, and with a self-confessed glasses addiction, she is the perfect creative genius to design this range. With three main styles, these comfortable glasses have burst onto the European market, with plans to launch in Australia at a later stage. Of course KidStyleFile will endeavour to provide launch dates at they occur
