It’s happened already. Although only three, our youngest has decided that girls have germs and boys are (almost) always best. What to do? I think I have a pretty good story though that will turn him round and rekindle his love for all those ladies in his life.
A couple of years ago a very rare bread of bear was discovered in the Canadian Arctic. A polar bear and grizzly bear met across the melting snow caps and fell in love. What resulted was a Pizzly bear, I kid you not! And yes it’s a sad sign of the times that our changing world can draw these two breeds together, but Japanese designer Masahiro Minami, saw it as a beautiful love story and the inspiration behind his rocking bear – aptly named, Pizzly Bear. Using a combination of high quality wood and ply, the adorable rocker design (suitable for age 18 months and up) brings the two bears together on floating ice, symbolic of all parents, joining forces to support their own ‘cubs’.
Hong Kong based design company Huzi is the proud producer of Pizzly. Their goal is to produce functional toys from emerging and established international designers, filled with energy, humour and the odd surprise or two. They are passionate about creating smart toys that help to explore imaginations and nurture interaction.
The Pizzly Bear is currently on pre-order at HK 6,000. You can contact them directly via their website.
