I’m continuously intrigued by the growing popularity of board books at the bookshop, and we now have a dedicated section set up to house the vast array now available. We are careful to choose original stories that delight both parent and child, and one of our favourites at the moment is the Noodle series, illustrated by Marion Billet.
Unmistakably French in both name and artistic style, Billet has had at least 80 children’s books published in 11 different countries. Her website alone is a visual feast while her adorable characters have appeared in magazines, on stationery and toys, as well as on children’s furniture and clothes. Her cuddly creation Noodle, produced by the innovative Nosy Crow publishing house, is a panda character for the very young. He loves to play with things, explore and learn, as well as having lots of cuddles with mummy! These are cute, colourful and utterly irresistible touch and feel books, perfect for babies and toddlers who are sure to make Noodle a firm favourite.
