In the mood for winter yet? It seems like it has been knocking on the door a lot lately. Cold days, rainy nights, cloudy skies means winter has arrived. Getting outside and having your cheeks slapped by the cold can be a invigorating experience especially if you have hot chocolate and a warm bath ready as backup.

But the season is of course well known for more indoor pursuits. Cooking with the kids can be a lot of fun for them and despite the extra mess baking cakes or biscuits are a sure fire way to create lasting memories and fill the house with cosy aromas. Learning to knit and play with wool is also a great activity and is often a lovely task for an older friend or family to teach — I can’t knit, but my mum has taught my son and he loves it. There is also plenty of time for dancing, taking extra long baths, making cubbies inside or rugging up warm and jumping in puddles.
