It is a truth universally acknowledged that there is nothing nicer than crawling into bed in a brand new pair of pyjamas. When I was a little kid my mum used to occasionally buy me a new pair of PJs, for no particular reason and always completely without warning. Finding the new pyjamas folded up on my pillow when I came home from school was so exciting, and bedtime on ‘new PJ nights’ could never come soon enough.
