From little things, big things grow. Established in 1961 World Wildlife Fund – WWF – is today the world’s leading not-for-profit conservation organisation with five million supporters internationally across over 100 countries, all working together to protect diversity in the animal kingdom.
Children have a wonderful affinity for animals, and from a very young age we teach our kids about animals (and the noises they make!). Animal themed games make for wonderful learning opportunities, and the new range of classic games and puzzles from WWF produced in conjunction with Terra Toys, are a wonderful way to teach kids game skills while learning about animals.
The WWF floor puzzles, available in Sea Life, Polar Regions and Wild Cat designs, are great for little kids aged 3+. These puzzles allow children to discover interesting facts about each puzzle’s region/species/theme. They are loaded with colourful and beautiful wildlife. The puzzles include fun-shaped pieces in the form of key animals such as sharks or polar bears. Information on the species is featured on the reverse size of the puzzle pieces for an added learning opportunity.
There are also 5 classic games on offer: Miombo and Tropical Tumble Towers feature funky animal prints and patterns. Amazon Dominoes showcase photographs of rainforest species (the tiles can be flipped over to make an Amazon-style river – cool!); Wildlife Matching Game allows kids to learn about wildlife while they play with this educational take on an all-time classic; Animal Matching Bingo helps kids learn about endangered animals and where they live and the Endangered Species Playing Cards present photographs of 53 species together with species and key habitat information.
For every product sold a contribution is made to WWF’s world conservation work. To date the WWF Toy range has generated over USD$500,000 in donations for WWF. Pop a WWF toy under the tree this Christmas and lend your support while giving your child a fun and educational gift.
