Once again in this 7th season of the cult TV show Offspring, Oishi-m will be busting out an entire wardrobe of Autumn and Winter 17 as they dress Zoe Proudman Reid, daughter of main character Nina Proudman (played by Asher Keddie).
Oishi-m clothes have been featured in Offspring since Season 5 and today we spoke to Miyo from Oishi-m about this continuing unique opportunity to showcase their amazing collections.

Tell us about the new Autumn Winter season collection
Our latest range is inspired by the beauty of the Australian bush in winter, with clothes made for adventures in the great outdoors. This is a collection for the senses, not only the fabrications and textures of our garments, but the environment in which we play.
Made for running amongst the gumtrees, searching through the crunchy leaf litter below towering gums, or playing ringarosy in a verdant clearing, our desire is to create garments that make our munchkins feel snuggly and warm in the change of season, and encourage families to embrace the coldest time of the year.
The Oishi-m Winter in the Wild 2017 range has heaps of great new gear, with amazing fabrications, colours, textures and yardages on our bestselling shapes. From longsleeve T’s, Crew Jumpers, Shrugs, Hoodies, Dresses, and the return of Jackets, to bottoms like Harems, Skinny Jeans, Track Pants and Leggings to keep lil’ pins cosy. We have also sourced incredible textural fabrics that will delight the senses, and developed our own artwork for specialty panel printed art tees.

How did you get involved with Offspring?
It was really a case of sending them our samples, and they liked what they saw. Years ago, we got the sense that babies might become part of the story line, and because we so passionately loved the series we thought we’d preempt things and ‘introduce’ ourselves, so to speak.
Nina’s style is unique, and followed by fashion bloggers and fans in droves, so to be associated with her personality and being deemed appropriate for dressing her offspring is a lovely feeling. Oishi-m clothing being the wardrobe of choice for Zoe Proudman-Reid (daughter of protagonist Nina Proudman, played by Asher Keddie) is a pretty surreal experience.
What drove you to create the collection that you did?
We are always driven to create collections that allow children to be children, and help them live a life unplugged. Much like children’s imaginations, our creativity is not limited by anything, we do not follow trends or colour predictions, we just do what feels right to us and what’s practical, fun and functional for the season.
We are fabric fiends, and love nothing more than sourcing divine bolts of fabric that appear as hero panels or barely a glimpse; it’s all there for a reason. Often we let the fabrics steer us into the product; for example we found the oriental print bonded unbrushed fleece and could immediately visualise the Kyoto Hoodie. Or the splatter print fabric that screamed out for a crew jumper and sweater dress!
