Finding a way to cut through in an industry saturated by local and overseas brands has always been a challenge, but Anarkid have managed to carve out a strong market since their inception four years ago. Launching at a time when organic and ethical manufacturing was new to mainstream manufacturing, Anarkid quickly became known for their strong stance on ethical production and fair treatment of workers.
However with the addition of a new and bigger team, now operating out of both Melbourne and Sydney, Anarkid owner and Creative Director Kelli Milne and Marketing Director Dominique Perri are steering Anarkid in a new direction, and taking it back to where it all began. Kelli, a self proclaimed ‘rebel’ describes Anarkid as being built on a solid foundation of style, understated cool and rebellion.
“We grew up riding our bikes on the street until dusk, listening to Nirvana and the Pixies, and spending way to much time dreaming about being rock stars”
“We grew up riding our bikes on the street until dusk, listening to Nirvana and the Pixies, and spending way to much time dreaming about being rock stars. This feeling of freedom combined with adventure and not conforming to the rules has always stayed with me” said Kelli, “and this is exactly what Anarkid is all about. We care about the world we live in, and we believe we can have a positive impact on making it a better place, so ethical production will always be a part of what we do, but when kids wear our clothing, we want them to feel a part of something. We encourage free thinking, a love of art and always a little touch of Anarchy.”
Anarkid’s love for organic materials gives each of their pieces that extra comfort and sensitivity little kids need. Don’t let this fool you though – Anarkid is made to suit the rebels, the odd ones out and those who never conform.
Rompers, jumpsuits, dresses, leggings and shirts from size 0 to 7 give both the comfort needed for busy bodies to grow, with that little flare of personality.
Anarkid also have great baby accessories like blankets, wraps, bibdanas, pom-pom bonnets and much more that can make for a perfectly unique baby shower gift. What better way to encourage a new little rebel.
