If organic cotton had been on the scene when my babes were small I would have bought it in truckloads – it just doesn’t seem right to put anything but the purest fabrics next to a newborns perfect, delicate skin. In addition to it’s natural properties, organic cotton feels just so darned good. I honestly don’t know how they make it sooo soft, but this tactile quality is quite marked in organic vs non-organic cotton.

Fair Trade production ensures that workers manufacturing products are paid a fair wage for their toil. It’s hard to believe that it could be any other way, but the sad truth is out there: exploitation is real. Buying Fair Trade products sends a message that we respect the rights of workers, wherever they may live, and that we’re prepared to put our money where our mouths are, and support the cause.

There’s no better feeling than buying something gorgeous, with the knowledge that the product I am taking home has been produced in an ethical way. Add to that a mode of manufacture that avoids pesticides and the use of other chemical nasties, and I am well and truly sold!
