Going off on a bit of a tangent here, we went to the most fabulous fair on the weekend. It was everything you could ever want in a fair; so much to see, a lovely location and very relaxing. There were also FREE Donkey Rides courtesy of our local branch of the Good Samaritan Donkey Sanctuary.

Every child that had a ride wore a helmet, but before the helmet went on, they popped a disposable hair net on each noggin.

Ah, I thought, as the penny dropped, they are doing this for the express reason of hygiene and preventing the spread of head lice.

My kids are 3.5 years, and I haven’t had much cause to think about lice as yet, but I know it will come my way.

I know from my friends with kids who are in school that head lice and nits are a scourge that few manage to avoid totally, that they like clean hair over dirty, so squeaky-clean-ness is no protection, and that they’re a darned pain to shift once they’ve moved in.

Looks like it may be fair weather (if not roasting) for Easter this year. Hope you’re all coping ok with the heat, and feeling well prepared for Easter gifting and a nice break.

I have found THE most perfect things to gift for Easter, and beyond (or even before, as is my case!) this year. They are the Paul Frank ‘Small Paul’ products at Minifashionista - www.minifashionista.com.au.

In case you haven’t come across them before, Minifashionista caters for boys and girls aged 0-4 years, and carries an impressive range of brands that deliver individualistic styling for babies and kids.

I also bought the Small Paul 3 pack of socks (also $19.91), as the tiny feet are rapidly turning into mini-surfboard sized feet.
My kids each wore all three pair of socks at once - a surprisingly inspired look. The quality is great, and they are a generous length; great for colder weather.

I managed to squirrel away these Little Chipipi Fridge Magnets, ($24.71) but I did open them and test them (after B1 and B2’s bedtime and they are so great! I am so glad I popped them in the order. They way exceed expectations.

I expected a traditional flat, shiny surface. Instead, they have a matt stippled surface (a bit like 3M mousemat surface; feels like dolphins!). These magnets have a lot going for them: the designs are very sweet, the quality is great and the magnet itself is highly functional, with a nice strong pull. They come packaged in a cute little top-opening box too. Neat-o!

I also couldn’t resist the Small Paul Trucker Cap ($19.91) for my nephew, who will be two in a couple of months. Yes, I love to be prepared!

It must sound like I’m spending spending spending all the time, but I always bag a bargain. Always.
