With winter now well underway, nothing brightens my day like finding new ranges at discounted prices to present to you all.  Today is a wonderful day, because I have discovered that Dimity at Just Ripe - www.justripe.com.au - has a whole heap of new gear in store just for our browsing and buying pleasure!

There are lots of adorable new rompers from Albetta. I think the Bear one (below at no. 10) is too cute for words, and there are some gorgeous florals for girls in both traditional and funky styles. Albetta seem to use a really high threadcount of cotton for their rompers - the ones I’ve had in the past have washed up beautifully and they feel lusciously thick and soft.  I’m eyeing off these new designs big time, believe me!

Speaking of rompers, there are also some divine choices from Britt (see their Bear Face romper at no. 2 below), and I adore the Nurtured By Nature range too; their Cocoon Cotton knit fabric is absolutely delicious to touch and the colours are gorgeous.

But I think the most tactile product range here has to be from Infancy: their cashmere rompers are… oh, words fail me! Try to imagine the softest, snuggliest blanket you’ve ever felt, and then double its softness, and then you’re approaching something like the Infancy Cashmere All-In-One Suit.  And Infancy are also doing a line in sustainable bamboo fabric now, which feels quite a lot like a cashmere blend to touch.

As an Aussie living overseas I find that the longer I am away from home, the more patriotically Australian I become.  I proudly wear my green and gold kangaroo print socks on the 26th of January each year, and my mum is under strict instructions to keep the vegemite coming in the post!

Easter is a joyous time of year. Its significance changes from family to family, but whether it be your annual reason to attend church or mass, to go on the hunt for your area’s best hot cross buns, or painstakingly bake your own - my neighbour does this which impresses me more than I can say! - to have a family gathering, to go on holiday, or to eat your body weight in chocolate, Easter is a special time.

Bliss for me is spending a leisurely afternoon browsing a toy shop (online, or in the flesh), eyes wide, admiring the shapes, colours and contours, of the beautiful objects within, and imagining how my children would respond to them. For precious moments, too, I indulge the child that is still very much within me, visualising myself whizzing lightening fast down a hill, or lying on the floor, arms propped, while examining the complexity of a puzzle, or a replica insect.

It seems that I am in good company in this, as you, dear readers, too share a love of toys.

In September we ran the KidStyleFile inaugural Reader Survey, and asked you to pick your most favourite toys for children.
