I’ll admit that I much prefer shopping for my kids than myself. When their wardrobes need some TLC, you’ll always find me online, where it’s calm and quiet with zero chance of tantrums.  As a constant hunter for all things hip, the selection of super cool duds is most certainly on the up. Australian stores are hearing our call, and finally the boys are getting a piece of some well earned stylish action.

This season, our little demons are pulling off their pullovers and getting back into boardies. You’ll see lots of ocean blues, minty greens and accents of black mixed with soft greys and hard edged graphics. Retro prints and old school illustration make a comeback thanks to Baobab and Mister Mista, while geometry is also loud and proud, with Munster and Katvig having fun with daring stripes.

If I was allowed a favourite, I’d probably have to say Minti. I just love the classic basics mixed with vivid t-shirts and cool pants. However, as the weather warms up, we must also remember to keep our kids sun protected. Much excitement this morning dear readers as the Baobab – www.baobab.com.au Spring/Summer range launches this week and you’re getting the inside scoop!  The very talented (and even more lovely) designer behind this utterly gorgeous Australian label describes this range as her ‘Venice inspired collection’. It features dreamy cotton knits & lightweight poplin shirts, pants & dresses all made from great quality organic fabrics.

When it comes to colours, Belinda is something of a wonder. Overall this collection has a lovely pastel palette and then an occasional bright burst of colour like the Magenta Murano Dress. While we’re talking about dresses, let me pause and sigh about the beauty of these dresses. After two boys, I have taken much pleasure in dressing my little poppet in dresses – and some of my all time favourites are these Baobab dresses.

Belinda creates dresses that are the best of pretty and practical. I love seeing my daughter in them, and the best news is that because they are super comfortable she *loves* wearing them. There are prints which echo islamic-venetian architectural details such as the Red Peggy Dress (or as Belinda affectionately calls her ‘Peggy in Venezia’) A large portion of the dress range this season is made all the way up to a size 10 which is a brilliant, brilliant concept for tween girls.

Babies look fabulous dressed in Baobab, and this season includes a delightful collection of knit & woven harem pants to go with the cute dotti & Venice print items such as the cute Dotti Bodysuit  shown below at #7. For your teeny, tiny little girly poppets, there are a number of dresses to choose from which are made specifically from 0-3 months up to 1 year, such as the Grey Bella Dress - 100% organic cotton poplin fabric with wide straps and sweet shirring detail in the front.
