Having children, and my subsequent research and writing, has catapulted me into a world of new invention. Discovering the ways and means of being a parent can be both inspiring and overwhelming. My two boys have empowered me to unfurl the simple needs of children, and to understand the importance of play within their lives.
Running, creating, baking, singing, shouting, reading, jumping and placating are everyday scenes in our house, and all of these involve toys of many shapes and sizes. If only kids realised how great their lives are now – hanging out, focusing on elemental fun and nothing else. Quite possibly the best job ever? Well Benjamin Barlowe thought so. An American inventor back in the 20th Century, Barlowe’s philosophy, archive of observations, stories and inventions have inspired Begin Again to create their very own collection of toy products that surpass the mainstream toy manufacturers.

Thanks to the ideas of Benjamin Barlowe and a passion for honest production, these guys are certainly true heroes of play and are my inspiration for today.
