Start with the high quality and usability of their website, work through the impressive stable of brands they are carrying including Aden + Anais, Annabel Trends, Babu, Baby Brands, Beautiful Soles, Bod, Bod for Bubs, Boon (if you’ve been looking for a Boon Frog Pod going cheap, jump now: it’s only $35.96 after all discounts have been applied!) , Britt, Bud by Designroom, David Fussenegger, Egg Baby by Susan Lazar, Fish Lilly, For Walls, Grobag, Il Tutto, Isoki, John Crane, Little Chipipi, Luna Ninos, Marquise, Moppit, Nature Baby, Oobi Baby, Present Time, Quilt Baby, Ramalama, Vice Versa and Well Spotted, and work your way to their ultra-chic custom gift wrapping, and you will be nodding and muttering ‘yes, yes, ooh yes!!’ to yourself just like me!

Because KidStyleFile readers are at the forefront of all that’s hip and in the know, Bubba Funk want to reward your savvy gorgeousness with an additional 10% off. All you have to do is enter discount code KSF01 at checkout.

Offer ends midnight 15 July, so do not delay!

Here are some serving suggestions for you. As a nod to winter, my picks today are based around the theme of snug, warm and uber-stylish. Plus I couldn’t resist adding the bag de jour: the Il Tutto Mia. Read on!

Finally, if you’re seeking bag heaven, then look no further than the luxe Il Tutto range, as favoured by A-list Aussies Cate Blanchett and Sarah Murdoch.

Why do celebrity endorsements mean so much? Well, money is no object to these well-heeled mamas: they can afford to, and do, pick the best products available, so their lead isn’t such a bad thing to follow, especially when the product of their choosing is within the economic reach of mere mortals.

Pick up an Il Tutto Mia Tote (or Ava or Chiara) available in red, black and cream at a bargain price for just $449.00 $323.28 at Bubba Funk. These bags have style and substance: they are a fabulous size, look great and come equipped with a removable nappy bag inner, so they have a lifespan way beyond the baby stage: you’ll be toting this one in style for years.

Happy New Financial Year everyone!!

This might not have the same ring to it as Happy New Year, but it many ways it’s just as fun, because it’s Tax Return time - yay! - and I have just the plan for what you can spend it on :)

The Hip Infant - www.thehipinfant.com.au - is one of the icons in Australian online baby-wear and accessories. If it’s cool and for the under 5 set, then The Hip Infant has it.

There has been a very exciting development over at The Hip Infant: they have just launched their very own product range, The Hip Infant Basics.

The Hip Infant Basics is essentially a capsule wardrobe for babies. It is comprised of the finest quality singlets, rompers, separates and sleeping suits, all in super-stylish and flattering colour-stripe combinations.

Mel at The Hip Infant has four children (three boys and a girl), and in a previous life was a neo-natal nurse, so there isn’t much about kids that Mel doesn’t know.

Mel has designed The Hip Infant Basics drawing from her wealth of experience as a mother, and as a children’s health professional. These products are a winning combination of comfort, style, and practicality, and as an added bonus they are inexpensive!

At $19.95-$29.95 you can afford to wear them every day, and why not when they look this good!?

Posted: June 15th, 2008

Today’s post written by Miki
………………………………………………………………………………………………………

You know what I love best about winter?

It’s not the hot chocolates with marshmallows melting gooily in them. It’s not the chill in the air that puts colour into my cheeks, it’s not the open fires, it’s not even the winter fashions, although I do love all of those things too.

Nope, what I love best about winter is that it always means the End of Financial Year sales begin! And do I have a doozy for you today :)

he lovely Mel at The Hip Infant - www.thehipinfant.com.au - has just announced their End of Financial Year sale and it’s oh-so-fab:

Up to 70% off selected items, and as an extra special bonus for KidStyleFile readers there’s an extra 5% off store-wide! Do the maths with me - that’s up to 75% off! Also, you have the jump on the sale, as it doesn’t officially start until Monday 16 June!

Enter ‘KSF‘ at checkout to receive an extra 5% off your order. Discount code is valid until 30 June. All other discount codes are suspended during the sale period. (Head straight to the sale section to start shopping.

The Hip Infant stocks over 85 high end brands including AKA Pipik, Albetta, Alex Toys, Alimrose Designs, Anna & Sally, Annabel Trends, Anne Claire Petit, Baby Einstein, Baby Legs, Babylicious, Benny Boy, Bical, BlaBla, Blink Designs, BUD, Built NY, Bump Buddy, Cheeky Monkey, Christmas Ideas, Coco & Eli, Cuddlefish, David Fussenegger, DiddleDumpling, Dirty Laundry, Elodie Details, Eyetribe, Fiesta Crafts, Flensted Mobiles, Fleurville, For Walls, For Windows, French Bull, Gertie and Me, Go_Home JNR, Green To Grow, Haba, Heimess, Hip Stuff, ID Tee, Inch Blue, Infancy, Jazzy Toes, JellyCats, JewelQueen, Kathe Kruse, Keptin Jr, Kid Squidgy, Kiddopotamus, Kipiis, Lima Bean, Limo Basics, Little Chipipi, Little Einsteins, Little Joey, Little Twig, Liz Knits, Milestone Press, Mill & Mia, Mini Glow, Mitty James, Mon Ange, Moppit, Mum To Mum, My Child, Oeuf NYC, OUCH, Peanut Shell, Present Time, Pure Baby, Rockabye Baby, Rondeau Industries, Rush, Sigikid, Simple Gorgeous Storage, Skip HOP, Smirk Kids, Snugglebum, Snugzeez, Teeny Me, The Hip Infant Basics, The Hip Infant Sneakies, Tiger Tribe, Tippy Toes, Toys Pure, Trunki, Vessel, Wall Candy Arts, WalRUs, and Wee Gallery - phew!

In fact, if it’s stylish and to do with kids then I can’t think of much that The Hip Infant doesn’t stock!

The Hip Infant has everything from baby slings (check out the fab discounts on Aka Pipik and Peanut Shells) to nursery bedding (discounted David Fusseneger, anyone? Ooh, pick me!!), toys to clothes to decor and wall art, ad infinitum.

Also, check out The Hip Infant’s very own product range, including babygrows: The Hip Infant Basics (so popular, the first shipment has already sold out! Keep your eyes peeled though, more landing soon!), and pre-walker shoes: The Hip Infant Sneakies.

Also, I can’t let the moment pass without mentioning the huge discounts on nappy bags (I’m a wee bit notorious for my nappy bag addiction by now, and The Hip Infant is doing nothing to help me get over it I have to say!).

I just have to show you some of my favourite sale items; check ‘em out. Don’t dilly dally too long though, at these prices stock will be gone in a flash! Head straight to the sale section to start shopping.

Best Buys for Bite-sized Boys - A Boys Only Adventure: Part 1

Posted: May 3rd, 2008

Today I’d like to introduce to you to new KidStyleFile weekend contributor, Miki. Miki is mum to 9 month old Alex, and brings her stunning written style and a new perspective on boys gear to KSF. Today’s piece is Part 1 of Miki’s great expose of superb boys gear for less. Stay tuned for Part 2, coming next Saturday.
(PS Part 2 is now available here)

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Do you have a boy under the age of two? Do you struggle to find fun, funky and practical clothes him… without bankrupting yourself? Me too. The good news is that since I discovered KSF I’ve been enjoying multitudes of online stores which not only stock a great range of cool gear for baby and toddler boys, but also have fantastic sales and specials.

Here are a few of my favourites:

Quinn Macool

It’s very difficult to go past Quinn Macool www.quinnmacool.com.au when you’re talking about fresh and fun clothes for little boys, and even more so now that they’ve brought in their new winter value packs starting from $50.00 for jumper and pants. There are loads of options and great savings. In fact, the savings are even better this weekend, as Quinn Macool are having a massive pre-winter sale with 30% off winter jumpers, infant pants and singlets!

Check out these great designs:

Quinn Macool images

Beam Me Up, Scotty’ Jumper, $24.46 (was $34.95); Bravo Oscar Yankee sweatshirt, from $26.95; ‘Save Us’ sweatshirt, from $26.95 (most designs available in long sleeve and short sleeve t-shirts, and long sleeve and short sleeve rompers). Enter may in redeem code on checkout for your 30% discount on winter jumpers, singlets and infant pants.

Frock You

Ok, I’ll admit it - I’m a Frock You www.frockyou.com.au addict!

My nine-month-old boy pretty much lives in their American Apparel Baby Rib Karate Pants (apparently so do loads of other little boys, given how quickly they sell out!), and the Smirk t-shirts are also a big favourite with their simple, eyecatching designs and bright colours.

Frock You have some great boys’ gear from Baobab (have you seen the dragon bodysuit?) and also from Moppit, who do some of my favourite little boys’ tees.

Frock You images

Pics: Baobab Dragon Bodysuit, $34.95; Smirk ‘Astronaut t-shirt, $34.95; Moppit ‘Sticks, Trucks & Rock n Roll’ t-shirt, $39.95

The Rocking Horse

I have found my all-time favourite beanie here at The Rocking Horse www.therockinghorse.com.au: the Blabla Pocket Beanie in Basil. There is also a great range of the Oobi knits, including the classic ‘Little Bear’ hoodie - little boys in hoods with bear ears are just impossibly cute, but be warned: all the grannies at the supermarket will want to stop you to admire him!

However, I think my absolute favourite products at The Rocking Horse would have to be the Well Spotted tees, as recently featured in (I hope you’re sitting comfortably) Shop 4 Kids, Timeout Sydney, Sydney Morning Herald ‘Fashion Police’, The Age, New Weekly, Sunday Life and Marie Claire. Phew! Great slogan t-shirts, sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face. I’m finding it very difficult to choose between ‘I’ll have my people call your people’, ‘Far out brussel sprout’ and ‘I’m small but I know stuff’, and there are loads more besides!

The Rocking Horse images

Pics: Oobi ‘Little Bear’ hoodie with bear ears, $39.95; Blabla Pocket Hat in Basil, $39.95; Well Spotted ‘I’m small but I know stuff’ t-shirt, $29.95.

Chic Kids

If you, like me, worry about harsh chemicals on your precious new baby boy’s skin, then have a look at these Sckoon organics at Chic Kids www.chickids.com.au.

They are made from 100% organic Egyptian cotton, so perfect for the delicate skin of a baby. Check out the bodysuits - being in the kimono style they are wonderful for a newborn as it means not pulling anything over his little head (a guaranteed cause for screams, and not just from the baby!)

There are also some great top & pants designs, of which my personal favourite is ‘ZEN cloud’. And don’t forget to register with Chic Kids to get 10% off! Details are here.

Chic Kids images

Pics: Sckoon Organic ZEN Cloud Long Sleeved Shirt And Monkey Pants, $42.25 (was $46.95); Sckoon Organic Kimono in blue, $19.75 (was $21.95). Prices include 10% discount.

Pastel Pink

It must be said that a store called ‘Pastel Pink’ www.pastelpink.com.au is not the first place I’d have thought to look for boys’ gear. I’m so glad I did though; they’ve actually got some great stuff!

Have a look at the Bebe Marcel range, particularly the romper which is one of the nicest I’ve seen anywhere. And how cute is the David Fussenegger ‘Pirates’ bassinet blanket! There’s plenty more besides these two offerings, so it’s worth having a look for yourself. And remember that KSF readers get 10% off at Pastel Pink! Click here for details.

Pastel Pink images

Pics: Bebe Marcel Romper, $35.95 (was $39.95); David Fussenegger ‘Pirates’ bassinet blanket, $44.95 (was $49.95). Prices include KSF 10% discount.

Kids Gift List

Last but certainly not least, one of my all-time favourite brands is Sooki Baby.

Kids Gift List www.kidsgiftlist.com.au has some Sooki Baby for boys on sale at the moment, so hurry on over and check it out before it all goes! I like this quirky little Cruisin’ romper! (Spot the fluffy dice in the print on the front?)

There are some other great bodysuits and tees in the sale section too - I really love the environmental ones such as ‘I’ll change the world someday’ and ‘Save some green for me’.

Kids Gift List images

Pics: Sooki Baby Cruisin’ Romper, $26.35 (was $32.95); ‘I’ll change the world someday’ onesie, $31.15 (was $38.95); ‘Save some green for me!’ tee, $31.15 (was $38.95)

Check individual sites for postage pricing and details.

Hop on over to exclusive KSF Easter gift-with-purchase offers at Pastel Pink

Posted: March 4th, 2008

765.jpgboybunnies_2.jpg771.jpg822.jpgredstripeb.jpg848.jpg

Have you looked at the calendar lately? I just did, and Easter is approaching fast! Good Friday is happening on March 21 this year, so you (and me!) only have a couple of weeks to get your shopping done.

We’re in luck though, as rewards are to be had for savvy early-bird bunnies who plan ahead and shop at Pastel Pink - www.pastelpink.com.au

Cheryl at Pastel Pink knows just what we need, and she is offering the sweetest Easter deals exclusively to KidStyleFile readers.

Buy any Gertie and Me Bunny for your child for Easter and receive a FREE Emotion and Kids 3 pack of quality socks (RRP $11) in your choice of Pale Blue, Pink, Navy or Red!! Superb!

The super-soft buns range between $24.95-$29.95. View the delightful selection you have to choose from here.

I highly recommend Gertie and Me. We have both the waffle-fabric toys and the velour bunnies in our home - the velour softness of the bunnies is sooo divine, and the design is just perfect for little hands - and I gift them often (just sent one to Germany); they’re classy, friendly and affordable.

While you’re shopping, why not pick up a pressie for yourself?

Pastel Pink currently has kikki.K products* on sale for 30% off, and if you purchase 3 pieces or more you get to choose a FREE pack of kikki.K Sticky Notes in either the ‘Animal‘ or ‘Fashion‘ designs. *Including kikki-K Recipe Book, Baby Journal, My Friends, My Wedding (all pictured below), and My Dream Home, My Bills, My Receipts, My Pregnancy, My Recipes and Sticky Notes (not pictured).

receipe_journal_det.jpgbabyjournal.jpg12.jpgwedding.jpg

That’s just what I need to get myself organised as the weather cools. (I’m not too inclined to spend the Winter months cooped inside surrounded by indescribably bad clutter; aesthetically pleasing organisational tools might just inspire me to tidy and brighten up my space).

Pastel Pink’s Summer Sale also still has some Oobi (including the iconic Cable Knit Bear Hat with Ears Beanies and matching Cable Knit Booties for just $20.97 apiece; snap up these and grab a true bargain for Autumn/Winter), and Gaia Organic Cotton separates for the bebes, and Mitsy jewellery and bags for the Mamas (hey, Mother’s Day isn’t that far away either; you can justify it ;)

Pastel Pink also stock David Fussenegger, Elk Designs, Skeanies, Alimrose, Hess-Spielzeug, Cold Coffee and FlatOut Australia etc. Winter stock is arriving soon, so keep your eyes on the Pastel Pink site for regular additions.

Mention ‘KSF’ in the notes section at checkout, together with your preference for sock colour/Sticky Notes, to receive your gorgeous gift with purchase. This offer is available until stock runs out; there is limited availability so binky on over to Pastel Pink to score!

Pastel Pink send parcels overnight via Express Post. Charges are $7.40 for parcels weighing 500gm and under, and $10.40 for 500gm-3kg.

Important update 19 March 08: The gift with purchase offers have now concluded. Check 19 March post for details of a super new offer :)
