Growing up in Dublin, I recall the regular visits to the Start Rite shop, where we’d have our feet carefully measured in a fabulous old foot fitting machine. It could have been something straight out of a Roald Dahl story, but we always came away with a pair of shiny new shoes.

I’m excited to see lots of bright and beautiful designs for Summer that mix fashion with function. And we’re not talking boring brogues either, designers have colour and cool all wrapped up. Isn’t it amazing that three kids from the same family can have three very different approaches to fashion? Our number 1 child (bless his little heart) inherited a lack of intuitive style from his father, but fortunately is very happily guided in the fashion department.  Our number 2 and 3 children however have *very* strong opinions about what they will and will not wear. I just love a makeover! The idea of transforming something into a stunning improvement is exciting. This week I came across what I think is one of the most fabulous makeovers of the year.

I’ll share a secret with you: I’m a closet shoe-a-holic. I love every type: boot, peep toe, mary-jane, stiletto, sling backs, even clogs.
