It’s starting to feel a lot like Christmas. Case in point: over the weekend, my suburb seemed to suddenly (almost magically) light up with dazzling lights in preparation for -  wait for it  – *24* days time!

Wow, so many stunning new products at The Infant Boutique – www.theinfantboutique.com.au!  Vikki has been celebrating the store’s 3rd birthday by going to town on sourcing new products, and I’m loving what she’s come up with.

The first items I just have to mention are the new prints by Miriam Bereson.  Based around some of the more delightful and whimsical animal collective nouns, the prints are striking and modern, and either singly or as a group are perfect for a nursery, child’s bedroom or playroom.  And at only $15.00 each they’re an incredibly cheap and cheerful decorating solution!  See below for ‘A Float of Crocodiles’ and ‘A Memory of Elephants’, but instore you’ll also find flocks of birds, parliaments of owls (who knew?!), and a symphony of colourful animals.

And speaking of whimsical, how about the new toys Vikki has sourced from French brand Ebulobo?  The fuzzy little wolves and bears in this collection are bound to become your child’s favourite new playmates.  I particularly like the Louloup Wolf Play Set, which includes one very greedy wolf and his stomach contents: a pan, a mobile phone, a chicken bell, a pig squeaker and a Little Red Riding Hood. It might not feel like it when you step outside, but summer is well and truly underway at our style mecca, Baby’s Got Style – www.babysgotstyle.com.au. Even when the weather is crapola outside, just looking at all the beautiful summery things at BGS puts a smile on my face. So break out the sunnies, throw on your favourite shorts and slip into those thongs; we’re off for a little tour of the newest summer arrivals!

First stop for the summer party train is none other than Oobi.  No longer content to ‘only’ make the most adorable baby and toddler clothing in Australia (twice voted KidStyleFile readers’ favourite baby and kids designer), Oobi have now branched out into sweet children’s homewares, with a pair of vintage-inspired quilts.  Trucks for boys, tulips for girls, and a really lovely patchwork design make these quilts this summer’s must-have room accessory for your kidlets.  Have a baby under 12 months so can’t use the quilt as bedding?  No probs – they also make incredibly stylish playmats to put down on the floor.  Also new from Oobi are the melamine spoons, which come in sets of four with colours for boys and girls. Looking for something to top off your son’s outfit?  The range of hats from Goorin Kids has me drooling; it’s incredibly hip and there are so many that I want for my boy it’s just not funny!  I’m currently tossing up between the Lil Buddy Straw Cowboy Hat and the Baby Oliver Plaid Fedora.  Perhaps I’ll just get both…

Easter is a joyous time of year. Its significance changes from family to family, but whether it be your annual reason to attend church or mass, to go on the hunt for your area’s best hot cross buns, or painstakingly bake your own – my neighbour does this which impresses me more than I can say! – to have a family gathering, to go on holiday, or to eat your body weight in chocolate, Easter is a special time.

Children at Easter time are often the recipients of gifts, and although these have often consisted of chocolate in the past, trends are changing.  More and more parents want to make Easter special for their kids without having to put up with the little ones’ huge sugar-fueled tantrums or clean up chocolate vomit!  And so the hunt for clever, stylish, non-edible Easter gifts begins.
