As you may know, KidStyleFile has been touring around the country with Mathilda’s Market this year, and it has been a most thrilling experience. Not only have we met lots of lovely readers (that’s *you* – thanks for saying hi!!), but we’ve really enjoyed catching up with the crafty folk that purvey their wares at these stunning events.

I keep crossing paths with the lovely Helen Bremmer, creator and cermacist supreme at the helm of Ensparkle Ceramics – www.ensparkle.com - and I really want you to ‘meet’ her, too.

Helen found her home here in Australia after emigrating here a few years ago from Scotland with her family. Formerly a French teacher, and currently a mum to two beautiful boys (nearly 2 and a 3.5 years) , the Australian air inspired Helen to take a ceramics class and – hey presto! – a career change was born.

Helen’s products consist of mugs, bowls, plates, cake stands, brooches and, new to the season, Christmas baubles, all made by her very own hands. Each piece is slip cast using liquid clay and a mold, it is then cleaned and sanded before being hand painted and fired, then glazed and fired again to make it food and dishwasher safe.

An Ensparkle piece is an ideal gift for your child: it will be something that they will get daily use out of, make memories with, and maybe even hand down to their own children. The advantage of buying ceramic pieces like this is the fact that they are made, not by the millions in a factory, but by hand with love with attention to detail and quality imparted into each individual piece, and this really shines through.

Ensparkle Ceramics are priced from $24.95 to $149.95 and are available to purchase direct from Helen on the Ensparkle website. The cut off date for personalised Christmas deliveries is 5pm AEST Wednesday 8 December 2010.

PSSST: A little birdy just told me there’s also a handful of Ensparkle pieces – a Red Fire Engine Mug and Plate and two lovely Christmas Bowls – on sale over at Little Living – I recommend you move quickly!
