It’s my favourite week of the school year: Book Week!  As a kid I adored dressing up as my favourite character, and as a teenager I loved getting to attend workshops and readings from some of the best Australian authors. In just a few days it will be the one day a year when every Mum gets her much deserved recognition for all the hard work and sacrifice throughout the year.  Don’t get me wrong, motherhood comes with countless privileges and joys, but it’s also extremely hard work 24 hours a day (yes, also for those who work outside the home) and comes with no annual leave, sick days, fancy employee functions or even much appreciation.  It’s no wonder we give ourselves one day per year of recognition and being spoiled and pampered!
