Today’s post written by Miki

………………………………………………………………………………………………

Technically, winter begins on June 1. That’s not far away now!  Are you all prepared?  Do your kids have all the lovely wintery things they’ll need?  Because if not (or even if you’re like me and they technically do but you figure there’s no such thing as too much!) then you need to visit 5 Little Monkeys – www.5littlemonkeys.com.au – as soon as possible.

Why the rush?  Well first of all, Ange at 5LM is holding a start-of-winter sale with up to 30% off a huge range of current season winter fashion, including Ouch, Tommy Rocket & Two Belles, Baobab, Miatom and Run Scotty Run. There are some BIG discounts to be found on these lines and nothing is going to last for long with you savvy KidStyleFile readers now in the know. ;)

What makes the rush even greater is the fact that Ange is giving KidStyleFile readers an extra 15% off! This means you can take around 45% off many current season pieces, and that’s an amazing offer!  And additionally, Ange will give a FREE surprise gift to everyone who places an order over $100 excluding postage!! Just enter ‘KIDS’ at checkout until 12 June 2009 to redeem.

So what are you going to snap up for your little darlings?  Personally, given my kiddie shoe fetish, I always go straight to the shoe section and here I’m in luck: Ange has just received a new shipment of shoes from WALNUT Melbourne in the gorgeous new season styles and colours!  I’m a huge fan of Walnut – not only are their shoes great quality, they look fantastic, last for ages and don’t break the bank.  What’s not to love?

There has also been a new shipment of Three Little Trees, just gorgeous.  And I can never go past Miatom for graphic tees and hoodies; their designs are always so eye-catching and so much fun!  My current fave is the Caravans Long Sleeve Tee, so excuse me now while I run off to add that to my cart before you all rush in and buy them out!

These prices are after the KSF reader additional 15% off discount has been applied. Use the code ‘KIDS’ to redeem until 12 June 2009.

Baby’s Got Hot New Winter Style: Check Out New Ouch, Pure Baby, Rock Your Baby and Heaps More, PLUS Enter the Alimrose Design Comp

Posted: March 18th, 2009

……………………………………………………………………………………………………

It’s extraordinarily difficult to pin down what I love best about Baby’s Got Style – www.babysgotstyle.com.au.

Is it the amazingly fantastic range of kids’ fashion that they stock?  The website which is a dream to navigate? The super-fast delivery? The kick-ass sale warehouse? Or is it the frequency with which they update their stock, meaning that there’s always something hot and new to look at?

Honestly, I don’t know which to pick out of that list apart from *all* of the above ;)

Let’s start with the fab new stock currently arriving at BGS, because frankly I think it’s one of the best collections online of all my favourite kidswear brands.

First up let’s look at Ouch. I love their take on fresh, funky streetwear for kids – it’s hip but extremely wearable, and take my word on it, tough as nails.  This season graphic tees are very much in evidence, along with feminine blouses and waffle grandpa tees (these will be a hit with both sexes). I also really like the Ouch skivvies.  Much maligned in the past few years, the humble skivvy has been given a makeover by Ouch and the result is great!  With a ruffle neckline, they look good enough to wear anywhere, and come in four fab colourways (black, hot pink, pale pink and white).

Hint: put a skivvy under a summer top or dress to instantly make it a funky winter outfit. Layers are always hip, and this is a practical way of getting more use out of summer items which haven’t been outgrown yet.

Also new in store are ranges from Pure Baby, Rock Your Baby (check out their ADORABLE knit hats below!), Baobab, Marquise and über hip NZ brand Minti. I have already run out of room for describing these brands’ many and varied virtues to you, so you’re going to have to click on all the links that I’ve helpfully provided and check ‘em out for yourselves.  I promise it’s worth it, but you already knew that anyway!

Last thing I want to mention is the Alimrose Design Competition. It goes like this: submit your own original design for a new Alimrose soft toy, and get the chance to see your toy put into production, receive the very first five pieces of the toy produced plus another $500 worth of Alimrose goodies! Woo! Find out more about this comp here, and make sure your entries are submitted by March 31.

a) Children Of The Revolution ‘Long Way To The Shop’ Tee, $33.95 (I had to include this as it just cracked me up!)
b) Pure Baby Blue Whale PJ set, $39.95
c) Pure Baby Grey Dragonfly Print Onesie, $29.95
d) Miatom Apple T-Dress, $29.95

g) Ouch Gather Neck Skivvy – Hot Pink, $24.95
