Mishi Design – Ingeniously Transformable Toys

Posted: August 10th, 2008

Today Miki brings you a delicious find in the form of Mishi Design, who meld a design sensibility with superior function and adaptability. Brains *and* beauty: I’m in love!

……………………………………………………………………………………………………

As parents, we’re constantly on the lookout for toys that our children will love. Unfortunately the wee beasties grow and develop so fast that it’s not often we find a toy which will delight them for more than a few months.

Enter Mishi Design – www.mishidesign.net.

Produced in Milan by Israeli-born industrial designer Mishael Tzoreff, the range of toys are not only exceptionally stylish looking, but distinguished by the way each of them is designed to grow with your child.

This not only saves parents money (effectively two or three toys for the price of one) but it’s also great for the environment (less packaging and materials to end up in landfill) as well as looking fabulous in your home.

The toys are all in line with EU safety standards. Made from a combination of plywood and solid timber with some metal parts and EVA wheels, the quality of construction is excellent and long-lasting. The toys come disassembled saving on packaging, and they’re easily constructed by an adult.

There’s the Lift Up, a Babywalker/Wheelbarrow, catering for ages 9 months through to 6 years, the Surf Up which does double duty as a Ride On/Scooter, the Swing Up, which performs the functions of Ride On/Rocking Horse, and my personal favourite, the Grow Up.

The Grow Up (pictured below) is three toys in one: it’s a Babywalker from 9 – 24 months, a Ride On from 18 months – 5 years, and a Trolley from 3 – 6 years. How often is it that you’ll find a toy which lasts from 9 months to six years old? It’s pretty rare, I’m sure you’ll agree!!
