Retro Revival: The Rody Horse Ride-On

I look into my crystal ball and predict the imminent revival of  fine 1980′s toy the Gymnic Rody Horse Ride-On. Why? Because it has ultra cool retro looks, an affordable price-tag, is great for developing balance and coordination skills and it’s *fun*!!

Developed in Italy in 1984 by Ledraplastic Gymnic, the Rody Horse is a high quality plastic inflatable bouncing toy suitable for ages 2-4 years. Made of super strong latex and phthalate free vinyl plastic it can be inflated to grow with your child. You can also purchase a rocker base and other accessories separately. Wish it came in bigger sizes? Gymnic has just released the Rody Max for children 5+. There are also Giraffe (‘Gyffy’) and Seal (‘Sally’) variations on Rody if horses are not your thing.

Purchase Rody & Friends from Rody Toy in the US for USD$39.99 + postage (enquire here for a shipping quote) until 31 January 2011. Alternately you can purchase Rody Horse in Australia from Fitball.com.au for AUD$59.40 + $15 postage. The Rody Max Horse is available in Australia from AccessHealth.com.au for $104.50+ postage (ranges between $7-$16 within Australia depending on your location).
