I tried to go Christmas shopping at a large nearby shopping centre yesterday. Ugh, big mistake. It was crowded and noisy, my kids were acting up, and as I walked from shop to shop I had persistent salespeople leaping out at me from their stands trying to convince me to sell them my wedding rings or buy anything from hand cream to a Gold Coast timeshare.  I ended up stressed, frazzled and with none of the things on my list; half a day wasted. It served me as a timely reminder for why I usually prefer to shop online: none of the crowds or noise or irritating salespeople, loads more choice and almost always better prices; plus I can do it while the kids are playing happily or in bed. And even if I pay delivery prices it usually works out to be far less than I’d have spent in petrol, parking and child ‘good behavior bribes’ anyway!
