Inspiring Finds at Where Did You Get That? New Brands, New Products + a Seriously Inspirational Up to 70% off Sale

Parenthood is a journey filled with joys and burdens, with highs and lows; and to do it well I need constant inspiration!

Sisters Toni and Melony from Where Did You Get That? – www.wheredidyougetthat.com.au – are two style-savvy mamma’s who stock all things kiddy + cool: clothing, accessories, toys and more. Each time I visit their store, it’s like a little window of inspiration into making life more creative, more fun for my little family. So thanks Toni and Melony, today’s inspiration is all care of you and your delightful store!

New Winter Fashion has arrived at Where Did You Get That?  You will find new threads from Tommy Rocket, Two Belles, Tea Collection and Daily Tea – which now caters for your growing little person, in sizes 2-8. Toni and Melony have also added Dezign with a Z, who make high quality wall art with a difference, to their store repertoire. Oh I just love them! I have included in the pictures below the Mini Mirror Butterflies and the DezRock My Guitar as they would both make great choices.  But for me, the creme of the crop from this brand is the Tris Tree. Oh my, just wait until you get a glimpse of it – it has to be the most glorious wall art I have yet to lay eyes on! It comes in three colours: brown, purple and white, and all of them are beautiful. Though I must say, if you have a room with a dark feature wall; adding the white Tris Tree would be absolutely stunning!

Toni and Melony have incredibly impressive range of products from top brand Djeco. I don’t know how they keep doing it, but they have just added whole new lot of Djeco products to the WDYGT? collection. Check out the pictures below which include my top picks of the new Djeco products: the Comic Character Stamping Set, the Stitching Cards Workshop, the Origami Animals and the Queen Coloured Sand Workshop.

I wonder how you get through the tricky hour or so in the late afternoon, when little people can get cranky as their tummies begin to grumble and the efforts of their big day catch up with them? Apparently my siblings and I were so horrible at this time of day that my mum gave it a name: “arsenic hour”. One of the things I use to help get through “arsenic hour” is a big floor puzzle; they are fabulous – they keep little minds and hands quietly busy, with plenty of pieces and room for everyone to be involved on the dining room floor while I get busy preparing food to appease the grumbling tummies. Where Did You Get That? have some giant floor puzzles you might want to check out – I love the Djeco Fearsome Archibald Giant Puzzle. Gorgeously fearsome, is he not?!

For ongoing inspiration, you simply must check out the WDYGT? Clearance and Specials section with up to 70% off a heap of fashion from Tea Collection, Daily Tea, Morgan and Milo Shoes, Goorin Kids, Zid Zid Kids and more. There is also 40% off Summer fashion from Daily Tea, Tommy Rocket and Two Belles and 25% off Swimwear by Girls4Sport and Stella Cove, while stocks last.

Where Do You Go For The Best Mothers Day Gifts? Where Did You Get That? of Course! 15% off Just For Mums

Posted: May 2nd, 2009

Today’s post written by Miki

……………………………………………………………………………………………………

Do you know what’s happening in one week and one day?  Any guesses?  Yes, you in the corner over there..?

That’s right!  It’s Mother’s Day in one week tomorrow, and if you haven’t ordered yourself, or your mum – or your mother-in-law, whatever you do, don’t forget her!! – a present then NOW is the time to do so.

I recommend going straight to Where Did You Get That? – www.wheredidyougetthat.com.au – for a wonderful selection of gifts for every mum’s taste.

Personally I love the Candela range.  These award winning portable lights are perfect for so many occasions – kids’ night lights, dimmable feeding lamps in the nursery, dinner table decorations, camping accessories, you name it – and once you’re done you just pop them back in the subtle base to recharge.  Can’t get easier than that, and they look so good!

For mums who believe that there’s more to life than what you can see – that’s such a lovely philosophy – I recommend considering one of the pieces by Enchanted Faeries.  Suitable for indoor and outdoor use and available in a range of sizes, I think one of these highly collectible pieces would look lovely hidden in a garden.  Part of the charm of the range, besides the quality and detail of their construction, is the way each Faerie has her own personality and distinct features.  Look closely at the faces of each one to see what I mean!

Until midnight on Monday 4th May 2009, you can take 15% off everything in the ‘Just For Mums‘ category at WDYGT? by using the code ‘THANKSMUM’ (nawwwww). This only gives you a couple of days in which to snap up the bargains, so hurry hurry!

Just quickly before I sign off, I also want to mention the cool new jeans by Tea Collection for boys and girls that have just landed at WDYGT? When you take into account the brand’s quality and the fact that they’re retailing here for $20 less than their RRP, you know you’re getting a good deal!

Prices marked in red  are applicable using the code ‘THANKSMUM’ (valid on all products in the ‘Just For Mum’ category) until midnight, 4 May 2009.

1. Spa Super Absorbent Hair Turban, $29.95 $25.60
2. Candela Glow 4 Set, $176.00 $149.60
3. Enchanted Faeries ‘Catkin of the Willow’, $34.95 $29.70
4. Chicken Blackboard Sticker, $39.00 $33.15
5. Daily Tea Rooster Long Sleeve Top, $34.95
6. Tea Collection Sora Boy’s Denim Pant, $79.95 $59.95
7. Enchanted Faeries ‘Dian O’Fay of the Oak’, $129.95 $110.45

9. Daily Tea Bird Print Long Sleeve Shirred Top, $34.95
10. Tea Collection Girls Dark Denim Pant, $79.95 $59.95

Where Did You Get That? stocks a huge range from the following designers: Aden + Anais, BabyMoov Bebedelice and Lovenest, Bella Tunno, Bod and Bod for Bubs hair and skin-care, Coco Boheme, Coo Clocks, Deglingos, Djeco, eco.kid,  Enchanted Faeries figurines, Girls 4 Sport swimwear, Goorin Borthers, Lelli Kelly, Moppit, Morgan & Milo, Opal London, Pink + Blue Yummy Mummy, Star & Rose, Tea Collection, Thermos, Tommy Rocket, Tooli, Two Belles, Zid Zid Kids, and Woolbabe sleeping bags.

Easter is a-coming: Gift Ideas to Inspire at Where Did You Get That?, PLUS 10% off store-wide

Posted: March 24th, 2009

Today’s post written by Miki

……………………………………………………………………………………………………

Have you noticed what I’ve been noticing when you go to the supermarket?  Yep, it’s that time of year again – Easter is on its way and chocolate is everywhere!

Now, I’m never one to complain about chocolate being everywhere (oh my, isn’t that my fondest dream!), but Easter gifts can take all sorts of shapes and forms, and chocolate is only one of them. Keep in mind also that too much chocolate for the kids isn’t necessarily a good idea.

So here are some ideas from the inspirational Where Did You Get That? – www.wheredidyougetthat.com.au – which are so awesome that they’ll distract you from the chocolate cravings for a while, and I know that’s saying a lot!

First of all, how about a Radio Flyer wagon?  The kids will work off all their sugar-hit energy giving each other rides up and down the driveway, and the wagon can haul all their other Easter loot around.  Radio Flyer wagons are so sturdy that you’ll get years – possibly even decades! – of use out of it.

Radio Flyer also have really great scooters for little ones, and they come in a choice of racy red or pretty pink. This is another good way to help the kids burn off some of that sugar hit.

Toni and Melony at WDYGT? have stocked up on the totally adorable Deglingos ‘Lapinos’ bunnies as well.  Absolutely perfect for a lasting, adorable, whimsical Easter gift, these little guys just make me want to pick them up and cuddle them.  Actually, the same goes for the whole Degingos range, I love it!

With Easter comes school holidays, which in turn means a lot of time during which parents must entertain the kids.  And has anyone else noticed that the Easter holidays usually involve at least a few days of rain?  Rain – in moderation – is wonderful, but it does mean finding inside activities for the kids.  I recommend Djeco craft kits which are hours of fun.

The Animal Mosaics are especially great: kids will love putting together the four mosaics inside each box, and will be proud as punch of the finished designs!  Plus Toni & Melony managed to get a great price on a bulk order of Djeco Mosaics which means the savings are being passed on to us.

Now because they love us, Toni & Melony are giving KidStyleFile readers 10% off store-wide*!  Yep, that includes sale prices which means that summer clothing is down to around 50% off for Tea Collection, Tommy Rocket and Two Belles! Just enter ‘KSF-Easter’ at checkout. This offer is valid until 5 April 2009. *Excludes Gift Vouchers.

Don’t forget that you can take an extra 10% off the prices below until April 5, 2009. Simply enter ‘KSF-Easter’ at checkout to redeem.

1. Radio Flyer Ranger Wagon, $249.95 $220.00
2. Deglingoes ‘Lapinos’ The Bunny, $59.95

Drink It In: Take Your Daily Tea at Where Did You Get That?

Posted: February 10th, 2009

Today’s post written by Angela

……………………………………………………………………………………………………

If you haven’t heard of Tea Collection before, then it’s your lucky day, because this San Francisco-based label is really worth knowing about.

Until recently you couldn’t buy Tea Collection within Australia, but happily now that’s now changed. Sisters Toni and Melony are Tea fans from way back, and are thrilled to bring you the new season’s ‘Daily Tea‘ mix and match play-wear range for kids from birth to 2 years range, through their very cool store Where Did You Get That? – www.wheredidyougetthat.com.au.

So what’s so good about Tea Collection? Well, besides the superb quality fabrics and finishes– seriously superior — great cuts and stunning prints, and stunning collections where every piece works back with every other piece (both cost effective and easy to wear) there is a fabulous story and ethic behind the brand.

Started in 2002 by Emily Meyer, a former menswear designer for Ralph Lauren, Perry Ellis and Alexander Julian, and itinerant world traveller with a family background of diversity, Tea Collection sprang from Emily’s idea to bring the beauty found in cultures around the world into the lives and homes of families in our own backyard, therefore fostering the idea of children being “little citizens of the world”.

Each season, Emily identifies a new place for inspiration and introduces prints and patterns that reflect that culture. She says “We design beautiful lifestyle collections that introduce a subtle, but important global perspective: colors, textiles, or silhouettes that are undeniably beautiful. In that beauty, we can all find a common ground of respect, awe and inspiration….If we believe that if the foreign is familiar – it is no longer foreign. It helps us remember that we all more alike than we are different”.

Tea’s business ethic of INSPIRED, GLOBAL, WARM and MINDFUL really takes my breath away, and just goes to show that success and a conscience can work together. Tea Collection can be found in over 500 boutiques worldwide, including Bloomingdale’s, Barneys New York, Neiman Marcus, Takashimaya, and now Where Did You Get That? in Australia.

LA Story: Tales from California

……………………………………………………………………………………………………

I have been lucky enough to have just come back from a family holiday in California.

We spent 6 weeks Los Angeles and had the most wonderful time. Because we were staying with family we really got to unwind and join in life Southern California-style, which for me meant one word – shopping!

But instead of giving you a show and tell of things I bought (which included tons of fabric and hundreds of glass beads), I thought I might share with you some things I found and loved or dreamed of buying had my purse been a little heavier.

When in Los Angeles and looking for fabulous kids clothes, look no further than Bonpoint (9521 Brighton Way, Beverly Hills). You may already know of this powerhouse of French design, but dropping into the Beverly Hills store may just find you rubbing shoulders with some pint sized fashionistas from famous families (Shiloh Brangelina is a regular, I’m told).

I also got a chance to get up close and personal with all things from the Bloom baby range. They are so beautiful and well made, and would look simply perfect in any home.

Aden + Anais is also doing really well in the boutiques State-side. Aden + Anais was formed by two Australian mothers who moved to the United States and found that the swaddling cloths made of the muslin fabric they wanted were too small for their babies, so they started a business making their own.

Lucky for us these popular beauties are available in Australia from The Hip Infant, Urban Child and Where did you get that? to name a few fabulous local online stores.

I also found some cool boutiques that have online stores that ship internationally. Yeah! You might want to check out This Little Baby Wears Cotton, for lots of cool, comfortable, cotton clothing, or La La Ling for brands such as Ses Petites Mains and Tea Collection.

I would also recommend checking out Neige Clothing, which is based in California but with a decidedly French Influence. Neige is the design-child of Adrienne Catrina who before launching her own label was a Design Assistant with Vera Wang. It has a strong classic look with fine detail and high quality.

You can purchase Neige locally at Urban Child (new season’s is in, and current season’s is now on sale. You can also grab and extra 20% store-wide discount at Urban Child until midnight tonight, 4 February 2009).
