Metro Mum: Everything You Want, Everything You Need Up to 70% off + FREE Postage Next 48 Hours Only + 3 Great Giveaways to Enter

Today’s post written by Leah

……………………………………………………………………

My focus this week is preparing not just my son, but myself as Master R embarks on his very first day at preschool in the first week of February. He is excited. I am (quietly) nervous and attempting to busy myself with preparations to make sure I am he is ready.  Of course I need to pick out the perfect bag, lunch box, water bottle….and a few little knicknacks for rewards and the like to reinforce his ‘big boy’ behaviours on the day. Metro Mum – www.metromum.com.au has everything I need to help the big day go off without a hitch.

First on my list is the Cubeo.  What a brilliant idea! This little product provides children with a visual reminder of what they need to do each morning, what to pack in their bag, what chores to do…well whatever you want them to remember really with 80 reusable stickers which features a range of items and extracurricular activities. It comes in 4 different colours to suit any child (I think green for us!) and is the right size for little hands.  The Cubeo is perfect for developing independent organisation skills and can be easily clipped onto a schoolbag.

A drink bottle is an essential piece of kit, and I am a big fan of the Fashion Hydration Thermos range, having originally purchased a bottle a few years back prior to their Australian arrival (and it’s still going strong!).

Both preschool and school can be tiring. Our kidlets little bodies require refuelling during the day to ensure that they can continue to concentrate, learn and have fun. Essential to every school day is a well packed lunch which isn’t crushed or too warm. Metro Mum has a range of lunch boxes to suit every budget and need.  You could choose one of the funky Thermos insulated lunch bags with soccer balls or butterflies, or for major cuteness factor, a BusyBee Friends “Quackie” Duck Lunch Bag.

Metro Mum are currently having a New Year Sale with up to 70% off selected brands, including Allerhand, Foogo Thermos, Isoki, Trunki, Paper Eskimo, Mini Monkey and more, while stocks last. KSF Readers score a bonus for shopping at Metro Mum,  of course! For the next 48 hours you can receive FREE postage on your order Australia-wide (excluding furniture items). Enter discount code ‘KSFship‘ at checkout until 28 January 2010 to redeem.

What else is new at Metro Mum? Check out the delightful new Dandelion range which is made from organic, natural and recycled materials: very cool gear! Also, you can win stuff! Swing by and throw your hat in the ring for the prizes below.

It’s Back To School With Haggus & Stookles: 10% off Great New Gear From Allerhand, Bobble Art, Thermos & more + Gift with Purchase Offer

……………………………………………………………………………………………………

It’s the time of year that parents look forwards to and children will do anything to avoid… yep, it’s back to school time!

If you’ve been looking after rambunctious and increasingly restless kids all holidays, then I bet you’re looking forwards to some respite when they go back to school.  However, if the kids themselves aren’t too excited at the prospect then I suggest you sit them down on your lap or next to you by the computer, and click on over to Haggus & Stookles – www.haggusandstookles.com.au.

You see, the fine folk at H&S have been stocking the shelves with everything funky, stylish,  hip and, oh yes, practical to make going back to school something to look forwards to.  The kids are bound to start getting excited when they sift through the amazing array of lunch boxes and lunch bags, all insulated of course; no yucky warm yoghurt here!  Whether their taste runs to Fridge To Go, Tiger Tribe, Bobble Art, Built NY or Allerhand (or the adorable Stephen Joseph for the littlies) they’ll find something they can’t wait to start using.

Drink bottles are next on the list, and although there’s also a fantastic range of them here I find it very had to go past the wonderful Thermos bottles.  Little ones will love the Thermos Funtainer and Foogoo range (tried and proven in this household), while older kids will find the sleek, sophisticated styling of the Thermos Intak range appealing.  There’s absolutely nothing babyish about the Intak collection, which I bet will make your tween boy or girl extremely happy!

Moving on to the big one now: bags.  Whether you’re after a sturdy (but stylish) backpack which can take all the abuse your kid can throw at it, or a library or swim bag that won’t get lost among the rest of the school’s, you’ll find what you’re after here.  Once again the smallest members of the family will go gaga for Stephen Joseph, while your older kids might prefer Bazoongi Kids, Irony Kids, Tantrums or Tiger Tribe.  Tweens will love the Allerhand backpacks, which are packed full of features without looking too childish

There are loads of other necessary back to school goodies at Haggus & Stookles too – bag tags, sleeping mats, pencil cases and more. And what’s even better is that KidStyleFile readers can take 10% off store-wide using the code ‘KSF-SCHOOL’, and all orders over $50 (not incl. postage) will receive a FREE 4 My Earth Snack Pocket until 31 January 2010 only.

So click on over to Haggus & Stookles and get the kids revved up about the start of term.  The countdown is on!

I showed an enormous level of restraint when our #3 baby was on her way, and chose not to update my baby bag.  But that didn’t stop me from checking out what was in the market! As I was doing so, I fell in love with the award winning brand Isoki. I just love so much about all their wares. My restraint has continued but I have had the pleasure of making a few Isoki purchases for girlfriends, and they have been truly treasured gifts.  But if you have been eying off an Isoki product, then I say “go for it”-  now’s the time with a 15% discount.

#5.  Big shout out too for all the Dad’s and Daddy’s to be – Metro Mum currently have an incredible 30% markdown on all Dadgear Nappy Bags. If you have a hands on Dad to shop for this Christmas, a Daddy bag like the Dadgear Billboard Series Sports Nappy Bag 118 could be a winner.

What a list hey?  In addition to the offers above, Metro Mum also have listed a fantastic deal on Babymoov – Bebedelice Baby Food Processernow only $149, that’s a saving of $51.00!!  And with a fantastic price of $9.99 on Munchee Mug – Kids Anti-spill snack cup and lids – methinks these would make a fantastic stocking filler.

Just new to the fantastic line up of products at Metro Mum are the Dandelion Organic Baby Toys and Feeding Accessories,  the Ebulobo Crazy Wolf Toys and the Thermos Funtainer Camo Chic bottle and Thermos Insulted lunch bags. As a matching pair, these too could make a great Christmas present.

Word on the street is that the just-landed Tiger Tribe gear is flying out the door at The Hip Infant – www.thehipinfant.com.au.

It’s not hard to see why: the backpacks, drawstring bags and cool new character dolls (mermaid, pirate, astronaut, super hero and fairy) are hot hot hot!

For little babes the Tiger Tribe best-seller is the Hummingbird Mobile.  I also love the Humming Bird Hanging String for a slightly different look.  Either way, your little bub is going to adore gazing up at the sweet little birds above her cot or change table.

Check out the whole Tiger Tribe range here.

For room decor and wall decoration, make sure you have a good look at The Hip Infant’s own range of Wall Graphics.  Classic, striking designs, these are really affordable and look absolutely stunning.  My pick today is the new Love Tree wall graphics, available in pink and blue.  Team the pink Love Tree (1.4m high so it’s a statement piece) with the Tiger Tribe Hummingbird Mobile mentioned above for a stylish and cost-effective little girl’s room.

Other hot products at THI right now are the Aden + Anais muslin wraps.  In fact, The Hip Infant is the only online seller to stock the entire range so you know you’ll be spoiled for choice.  I love these wraps, I think they’re the perfect size for swaddling and they look and feel so beautiful!

The Funtainers by Thermos – the big siblings of the Foogo by Thermos range – are also hot property, and it’s no wonder why! These insulated drink and food containers are boldly patterned with a butterfly print for girls and multi-sports for boys.  The ultimate Hip Infant lunch-wear!
