Tiny Threads at Teeny Prices: 25%-80% off Polka, Munster, Itch, Eeni Meeni, Cocoon Couture & more

It’s one of the better kept secrets of the world of designer kids online shopping.  It has a huge range of threads by top kids brands at astonishingly small prices, and just about every single thing on the site is half price or below.  And yes, it has a big range of sizes available in nearly everything, and these pieces are the genuine, oh-so-hip, article.

I’m talking, my friends, about Tiny Threads – www.tinythreads.com.au.  If you haven’t been there yet, GO!  GO NOW!  You’ll find previous season collections from brands such as Bardot Junior, Monstar Kids, Albetta, Cocoon Couture, Polka, Eeni Meeni Miini Moh and Itch Designs, and that’s just a start on their full range of labels!  As I said above, nearly everything online from all of these labels is half price or below which makes for the most amazing shopping experience.

For anyone with a baby – or if you know someone expecting one – take a look at the Dimples range.  A luxe NZ brand, it has really gained fame over the last few years due to its beautiful embroidered details and the richness of its quality.  I confess to being a bit biased since both my babies came home from hospital in outfits by Dimples, but I really do think it’s exquisite.  While we’re over that side of the Tasman, make sure you look at the range from another NZ brand, Minti.  Super edgy, fun designs on great quality fabrics make Minti stand out from the crowd.

Tiny Threads stock so many of the brands we know and love including Cocoon Couture, Itch, Polka, Munster, Minti, Tiny Mammoth, Early Birds, Anna & Sally, Ouch, Huckleberry Lane, Dimples, Fiona Kate, Yunginz, By Rachael, Mamapapa, Love Mae, Tommy Rocket, Rileah Design, Knufflekid, Heavenly Creatures, Little Red Duck, Cot Couture, Mondays Child, Grasshoppers, Square Peg, and Tkxi Surf, all at between 25%-80% off, every day of the week.  What’s left to say?  You’re going to have a field day!

Boots feature a lot in my childhood memories. From the navy gumboots with red soles (there were limited styles and colours back then) to the 10-up cherry Doc Martens that I blew my entire first pay cheque on, there was always a pair in my cupboard. Boots are, to me anyway, a winter staple.  They provide protection from the elements and can jazz up a winter outfit.

These days, boots are available in a wealth of colour and sizes. Ankle or knee high; rubber, vinyl or leather; patterned or block coloured – the choices are endless.

Whether they are bought to prevent wet feet whilst dodging puddles during a frantic dash from the car to a the shops; to pretty up a skirt; for running around it the back yard or just for comfort, they may as well be stylish! Discover a collection of some of the latest boots for babies and kids this winter below.

Easter Fashion for Every Taste

Posted: April 3rd, 2009

Today’s post written by Kat

……………………………………………………………………………………………………

I have to admit something: I am not a fan of theme-dressing. Sparkly christmas earrings give me hives; licenced kidswear causes nausea.

So, thinking about ‘Easter Fashion’ I nearly choked on my Creme egg (theme-chocolates I can handle).

Thankfully, I’ve realised you can be cheerfully festive and dressed to impress, without the need for fluffy bunny ears…(though if you can’t resist, try the hip version: Rock Your Baby’s Rabbit knit hat, available at Baby’s Got Style for $29.95. Adorable!)

Nanny Pickle‘s Bad Bunny Collection is so cute and cheeky it wins my vote for rabbit-themed clobber. Clobber, though, is a bit harsh, because this collection is made from supersoft bamboo and organic fabrics that are just luscious to touch, and come complete with important life lessons such as “Eat your Crusts” and “Don’t Run With Scissors”. Hehe! You can find the Bad Bunny at La Toriana from $19.95.

Cradlerock have a handy Easter section which includes these funky rabbit tees and hoody by Tiny Mammoth (designed by Beci Orphin of Princess Tina fame). How cool is this unique take on a gorgeous vintage print?!

Quinn Macool’s take on bunny prints is, erm, cool! From the cute retro “I Believe” (aaw!) to the “How To Draw A Bunny” tee, perfect for little artistes, you can personalise everything to your taste and nab a nifty new tee for only $22!

But if the only bunnies you want to see this Easter are of the chocolate variety, you could instead have fun putting together a gorgeous new outfit to celebrate:

Baby: Keep little ones warm and snug with a funky romper from Onesies – you’d be hard pressed to go past the simple and chic prints from Danish label Nanoou ($42, 0-12 months), teamed with this versatile, soft velour hat by Gertie & Me ($9.95) and gorgeous matching booties ($9.95; both available at The Hip Infant) for maximum aw-factor. You could also add a sweet little cardi like this one from Purebaby ($32.47 on sale from Just Ripe) for extra warmth and cuteness!

Little Boys: If Nanna’s going to be at Easter lunch, it might be wise to leave your rock’n'roll tees at home, and go for a timeless piece like this Wonderboy Stripe tee ($39.95, 6m-7Y, from Itty Bitty Yuppy). Work it with some classic denim (Munster Stovey 2 Jeans, $80, sizes 2-10; from Tiny People) and retro cool trainers – Adidas Country Stripe, $59.95, sizes US4-10; from Kido Store). If it’s cool, skip the hoody and go for a smart jacket like the Steve Mac coat from Freshbaked (on sale for $29.95 at BabysGotStyle). Watch out, ladies!

Little Girls: We all know how spoilt for choice little girls are now days when it comes to fashion – it’s hard to narrow down a party frock but this week my pick is Polka’s Black Birdy Frou Dress ($99, sizes 3-7; from BabysGotStyle). Accessorise with a slouchy knitted hat (Toshi, $18.95) and ribbed tights for a nice play on texture (Marquise knit tights, $9.95, both also from BabysGotStyle) - or try printed legwarmers scrunched at the ankle if you’re really cool (Huggalugs, $14.50 on sale from My Baby Rocks). Shoes? Yunginz Classeez ($59.95) are pretty enough for every occassion!

Please check individual stores for postage and delivery details. Always check the KSF All Current Deals page to see if you are eligible for any discount.

New ‘Charlie and Lola’ & Super Hot Sale at Kinder Kaboodle: 15% off Store-Wide with Shop 4 Kids KSF Code

Posted: February 27th, 2009

……………………………………………………………………………………………………

Kinder Kaboodle – www.kinderkaboodle.com.au – is certainly *the* place to visit for all your creche/pre-school/Kindy/Nan’s place needs, with a HUGE range of backpack, lunchboxes, drink bottles, hats, smocks, sun and rain gear, and other supplies, but did you also know that Bernice at Kinder K has you covered while you’re at home too?

There’s a lovely range of  games, activity sets, toys and accessories that will have you well sorted on stay-at-home, and stay-indoors, days.

Bernice has just received a new shipment of fab new Charlie and Lola merchandise that will have your kids calling “Mummm…pleeeeeeease can I have the Make and Play Jungle Playset??!” (or is that my voice? Moving right along….)

While branded merch is something which doesn’t usually get my pulse racing, I do really enjoy the Charlie and Lola. The books, and cleverly crafted DVDs both have artistic merit (Lauren Child is an accomplished artist and designer, inspired by children’s illustrator Quentin Blake, and here’s a piece of info to grow your Trivial Pursuit knowledge: she previously worked as an artist’s assistant to British creator Damien Hirst). Child’s stories are both joyfully happy and educational, and inspire infectious giggles, so fill your cart without the cringe factor!

Kinder K also now stocks a small range of themed nesting stacking boxes, including the Little Golden Books variety, which feature a selection of my fave LGB characters including The Poky Little Pupple and The Saggy Baggy Elephant, amongst others. These make a very cool decor piece before coming into their own as one of the most well-used toys you will ever own: my girls have used their boxes from 6 months old, and are STILL using them for various purposes.

For rainy days to come, check out the large range of cooking attire and accessories at Kinder Kaboodle. The Mini Rhurbab sets win the day for me.

As always, be sure to check out the Kinder Kaboodle Sale section for a nice selection of goodies going cheap.

Until midnight Tuesday 3 March, 2009, you can take 15% off store-wide (including sale items) by using the Shop4Kids discount code. Find the code in the latest Shop4Kids magazine, and also in the KidStyleFile Deals & Steals newsletter, out every Tuesday.
