Just For Boys: Just the Best in Boys Fashion – 10% off Store-wide

Posted: May 27th, 2009

Today’s post written by Miki

………………………………………………………………………………………………

I’m the mum of one boy and I’m expecting another one in a couple of months.  I’m also addicted to shopping online for them. Where does this lead me?  Straight to Just For Boys – www.justforboys.com.au!

As other mums of boys can surely attest, it can be frustrating at times to wade through the sea of sparkly pink tutus and tea sets, to bypass the all the pinafores and the party dresses, just to be faced with a choice of boring jeans, blah cargoes and – if we’re lucky – a choice of two or three fairly average blue t-shirts.

Luckily for us, Just For Boys is on the case, and is a brilliant resource of all that is different, cool and seriously funky for the little men in our lives.

First of all there’s a truly enormous range of clothing, all exclusively for boys, from brands such as Gabrial Saynte, Starchild, Wonderboy, Sandbox Rebel and Monster Baby – and that list is barely scratching the surface!

Also see the boys’ room decor (check out the super-awesome Super Mario wall decals pictured at no. 7 below) perfect for boys’ rooms, all sorts of accessories from hot sunnies (Frankie Ray, anyone?) to mealtime accessories – I know for a fact that my nearly-two-year-old would cheerfully give up many of his favourite possessions for these construction utensils!

A new brand stocked at Just For Boys is none other than Rock Star Baby.  Heard of it before? Well how’s this for a hint: people who buy Rock Star Baby are livin’ on a prayer, they’re hanging out for some bad medicine and they keep the faith.  That’s right – the brand is owned by none other than Bon Jovi drummer Tico Torres, and is endorsed by rock god Jon Bon Jovi to boot! Rock Star Baby products are characterised by edgy logos in blacks and metallics, bringing new life to usually boring baby products: bottles, dummies, dummy clips etc.

Now here’s the best bit: KidStyleFile readers can take 10% off store-wide at Just For Boys until the midnight, 10 of June 2009.  Just enter ‘KSF’ at checkout for certain happiness for mother and son!

You can take 10% off these prices by using the code ‘KSF’ at checkout until 10 June 2009. Way to go!

2. Frankie Ray Silver Flash Sunglasses, $39.95

Bibs are one of those things that you can never have enough of. They are the kind of thing where it is a good idea to buy quality and quantity. Good quality cotton bibs are the way to go, they wash well and keep on looking good.

For such a simple concept, the bib can come in so many shapes, colours and sizes: there are the soft small ones for newborn dribble and milk spills, the big absorbent ones for toddler munchtime, there are reversible, plastic-coated, patterned, plain, funny, cute, stylish, and co-ordinated, there are some for home, some for Grandmas, some for the nappy bag ,and some for adding a little colour to their outfits.

No matter what you are in the mood for, there is a bib out there to suit. They are also a great gift for new Mums or 1 year old birthdays!

Part 1: Stay Cool – Summer Threads at Hot Prices: Boys Picks

Posted: February 6th, 2009

Today’s post written by Kat.

Stay tuned for Part 2: Girls Picks, of this great special feature, coming next Friday. Until then, keep cool!

……………………………………………………………………………………………………

Recently I trekked through every local department store looking for something so apparently unobtainable at this time of year: a short sleeve t-shirt for my daughter. Just a simple, plain tee, heck even a tank top would do!

It was 40 degrees outside but all I could find in-store were long sleeved tops and cardis. Not exactly weather to inspire the purchase of knitwear!!

But, rejoice: the mysterious cycle of fashion that sees jumpers on the shelves in January also means mid-season is an online bargain hunter’s paradise!

Surf some cyber-waves this summer and pick up pieces they’ll need for a few months yet – here’s part 1 of our KSF guide to looking cool when it’s hot. Boys first!

1). Your first stop should be JustForBoys – the name isn’t a cryptic clue, it’s simply a site totally dedicated to kitting out  your little man in style.

From higher-end labels to local designers, there’s certainly no shortage of funky short sleeve tees here! I just spent a few minutes having a good ol’ LOL at some of the designs: check out Furvana and A Celebrity tried to Adopt me! by Pixie Rock ($25.95 ea), or the hilarious truths printed on tees by Bitterstrums ($22.95ea).

***

2). Baby’s Got Style always have a huge range of gorgeous gear, and luckily for all of us they’ve just started their summer sale, with up to 70% off!

For a true summer vibe, the awesome Corey Tee by Littlehorn (on sale for $19.95) has a great print, and would look very cool indeed matched with these Navy Cargo Shorts ($35.95 on sale) by Infancy.

Speaking of shorts, grab a pair of Ouch Cargos (in black check, black stripe or grey stripe) for just $26.95 and use them as a versatile basis for showing off an array of funky summer tees! Baby boys are amply covered as well, with comfy nappy shorts by Sooki Baby ($19.95) and beautiful sleeveless Bebe onesies ($19.95)!

***

3). Noisebox Threads is a relatively new label on the Australian market, but the prices are fantastic and the designs cool yet age-appropriate. Sweltering summer days will be made bearable with these cute printed singlets from $9.95, tees from $12.95 and shorts from $17.95. Seriously, that’s chain-store prices but designer styles!

***

4). ShopHouse have a great range of summer Mill & Mia and Purebaby stock on sale.

This very cool Henley tee is a steal at just $14.95, and would look great with these organic cotton Charcoal Shorts ($14.95). No-one would know you paid only $29.95 for the Patch Pocket Drill Shorts by Mill & Mia – they’ll look a million dollars paired with this PureBaby Polo ($14.95)!

Little men are best kept covered, but cool in a onesie: check out this gorgeous romper by And the little dog laughed ($15.95) and *bargain alert* the Stripe Romper by Mill & Mia is just $29.95 (reduced from $59.95!). I also couldn’t go past a modern take on the sailor suit (yes, we all went through it) – Puerbaby’s Navy Deck Pants ($16.95), just add a white sailor cap and it’s all smooth sailing!

***

5). Quinn Macool have some of the best statement tees around, and, if you’re sick of the same old-same old AB/CD tees, they can personalise tees to your liking!

Turn your child into a rock star with their own portrait tee ($39.95 on sale), make learning letters fun with their own Initials Tee (from $26.95), or if it’s too hot to care about telling inquisitive old ladies your little man’s birthdate, just point at his DOB singlet ($9.95)!

Eye candy below for visual confirmation of coolness, in every sense of the word!

Please check individual sites for postage and delievery details.

No Girls Allowed! Hip Fashion ‘Just For Boys’: Up To 25% off, plus an EXTRA 5% Discount for KSF Readers

………………………………………………………………………………………………

As the mum of a boy, I often get frustrated when trying to shop for clothes for him.  I walk into any children’s clothes store and see row after row of pink, while the boys clothes might take up half a rack.  It’s inequality, I tell you!  I might write to my MP about it ;)

This is one of the reasons I prefer to shop online for his things.  I don’t have to waste my time walking into every pink-dominated store in town, and I can hunt around for the pieces which I think would suit him best – and the prices that suit me best!

Shopping online gets even better when I find sites like Just For Boys – www.justforboys.com.au – which is a relatively new site on the scene that sells the creme de la creme of boyswear in Australia.  I am in luuuuuurve!

Just For Boys stock a fantastic selection of clothing and accessories from Gabrial Saynte, Inky Dink, Mites, Pixie Rock, Sourpuss, Elodie Details, The Bitterstrums, Starchild Shoes, Ed Hardy, Wonderboy, True Religion, Sandbox Rebel, Cocoon Clothing, daksforkids, Monster Baby, Baby WIt, Personalised Pacifiers, Milkooler,  Fred & Friends, and Deadly Girl Couture (yes, despite the name it’s the boyswear they stock!),

Inky Dink is, as of right now, my new favourite brand for boys tees.  I love their styles – hip, a bit edgy and yet still age-appropriate for a little boy.  He’ll rock out in these tees!  The Urbanscapes tee pictured at no. 1 below is at the very top of my ‘must have’ list, I love it!

Mums of baby boys, have you seen daksforkids before?  They do the cutest little animal print pants in 100% cotton, and the best thing about them is that they’re designed to grow with your little man, starting off as full-length pants, then cropped and then 3/4 as he gets taller.  So not only are they adorable but you’ll get twice as much use out of them!

Right now is a fantastic time to pay a visit to Just For Boys, as Julie is having a sale on selected brands and products.  You can take up to 25% off Inky Dink, daksforkids, Ed Hardy, Wonderboy and Starchild Shoes – woohoo!!

And because we are special, KSF readers can take an extra 5% off with the code ‘ksfsummersale’.  Just type it in at checkout and you’re away!  This fiesta ends 12 February 2009, so leap on over.

You can take an additional 5% off these prices by using the code ‘ksfsummersale’ at checkout until 12th of February 2009.
