Friends of ours visited today with their 3 year old and their perfect little newborn daughter. Seeing the little possum with the older kids made me think how grown up and big the three year olds are, especially in comparison, and how far and fast they’ve come since infancy. I know it happens every day, but it really is quite amazing and miraculous.

I closed my eyes and breathed in the milky-powdery-sweet scent and all of a sudden I could remember it all. The sweetness and intense intimacy of life with a newborn, and how you just want to lay the world at their feet, do anything to ensure their well-being and happiness.

So that leads me to the rationale for this post (thanks for the inspiration, Eliza).

Sleep has to be top of the wanted list for parents, particularly new parents. You want it, you need it, but can you get it? You’ve got a better chance of sleep if your bub is comfortable and not too hot or too cold.

Grobags are a great solution to this problem. They come in different weights so you can choose the one that is climate appropriate for you, they are sleeping bag style, so they can’t be turfed off like a blanket, and they are sleeveless, which allows for air to circulate, while always keeping the babe’s core warm.

Kids Things – http://www.kids-things.com.au – have a great sale on a large range of Grobags at the moment. They vary in price according to options, so mosey on over to the website to take your pick.

Another issue pertinent to the littlies is footwear. Shoes become necessary at some point, for warmth, protection or both. But do most of them stay on? Noooooooo. And some of them have inside seams that chafe the little feet – ouch!

Cheeky Little Soles are not only super-cute, but they are also made with the awareness of a child’s behavious and comfort. Cheeky Little Soles have a recommended retail price of $31.95+. Kids Things currently are stocking 9 different styles for just $29.00 a pair.

Kids Things also stock Minimink, Alimrose, Fish Lilly, Little Beetle Nappy Bags and Goldbug Harness Buddies. Kids Things post Grobags for $8.00, and shoes and clothing for $4.75.
