Well, we’re down to the wire now: in one week’s time exactly it will be Christmas Day, and time to rest and play with gusto! To help me in my quest to find the best Christmas gifts for kids I asked some of my favourite online stores what *their* hot picks for kids this Christmas are, and why. A big heads up to everyone living in, and in the vicinity of, Melbourne, Australia, and for inter-staters who are thinking of making a trip to Melb: here are some important dates for your diary: 30 April – 5 May 2009.

On these days the best baby and kids fashion labels in the land will be springing up and offering up to 75% off in pop-up shop, Tiny Threads – www.tinythreads.com.au. It’ll be going off from 10am-6pm at 7 Claremont Street, South Yarra Melbourne. Woo!

Tiny Threads is a concept borne by dynamic mum duo Marzena D’Odorico and Mel Tsoukas, who have over 15 years experience in the fashion industry. For the last 5 years the pair have been running out of site pop-up sales for the best players in the womens fashion arena. Marzena and Mel not only have fashion and business savvy behind them, they’re new mums too, and this has given them a whole new perspective on the baby and kids market, and a personal insight into what mums want. And oh my goodness they have gotten it so right!

Just a note that, unless you’re going to be tag-teaming it with a buddy, it may be best to reconsider bringing your pram to the sale. There there aren’t any storage facilities, and it’s probably not a good idea to leave your valuable baby-mover out on the street.
