Inspiring Finds at Where Did You Get That? New Brands, New Products + a Seriously Inspirational Up to 70% off Sale

Parenthood is a journey filled with joys and burdens, with highs and lows; and to do it well I need constant inspiration!

Sisters Toni and Melony from Where Did You Get That? – www.wheredidyougetthat.com.au – are two style-savvy mamma’s who stock all things kiddy + cool: clothing, accessories, toys and more. Each time I visit their store, it’s like a little window of inspiration into making life more creative, more fun for my little family. So thanks Toni and Melony, today’s inspiration is all care of you and your delightful store!

New Winter Fashion has arrived at Where Did You Get That?  You will find new threads from Tommy Rocket, Two Belles, Tea Collection and Daily Tea – which now caters for your growing little person, in sizes 2-8. Toni and Melony have also added Dezign with a Z, who make high quality wall art with a difference, to their store repertoire. Oh I just love them! I have included in the pictures below the Mini Mirror Butterflies and the DezRock My Guitar as they would both make great choices.  But for me, the creme of the crop from this brand is the Tris Tree. Oh my, just wait until you get a glimpse of it – it has to be the most glorious wall art I have yet to lay eyes on! It comes in three colours: brown, purple and white, and all of them are beautiful. Though I must say, if you have a room with a dark feature wall; adding the white Tris Tree would be absolutely stunning!

Toni and Melony have incredibly impressive range of products from top brand Djeco. I don’t know how they keep doing it, but they have just added whole new lot of Djeco products to the WDYGT? collection. Check out the pictures below which include my top picks of the new Djeco products: the Comic Character Stamping Set, the Stitching Cards Workshop, the Origami Animals and the Queen Coloured Sand Workshop.

I wonder how you get through the tricky hour or so in the late afternoon, when little people can get cranky as their tummies begin to grumble and the efforts of their big day catch up with them? Apparently my siblings and I were so horrible at this time of day that my mum gave it a name: “arsenic hour”. One of the things I use to help get through “arsenic hour” is a big floor puzzle; they are fabulous – they keep little minds and hands quietly busy, with plenty of pieces and room for everyone to be involved on the dining room floor while I get busy preparing food to appease the grumbling tummies. Where Did You Get That? have some giant floor puzzles you might want to check out – I love the Djeco Fearsome Archibald Giant Puzzle. Gorgeously fearsome, is he not?!

For ongoing inspiration, you simply must check out the WDYGT? Clearance and Specials section with up to 70% off a heap of fashion from Tea Collection, Daily Tea, Morgan and Milo Shoes, Goorin Kids, Zid Zid Kids and more. There is also 40% off Summer fashion from Daily Tea, Tommy Rocket and Two Belles and 25% off Swimwear by Girls4Sport and Stella Cove, while stocks last.

Boxing Day Blitz at Where Did You Get That? – 15%-90% off Store-Wide Sale, No Exceptions!

Posted: December 26th, 2009

Today’s post written by Miki

……………………………………………………………………………………………………

Well, Christmas is over for another year and I’d almost be sad… if it wasn’t for the Boxing Day sales!  And where better to start but with the fabuloso Where Did You Get That? – www.wheredidyougetthat.com.au – who have absolutely gone wild with the red marker on the price tags.

Toni and Melony at WDYGT? have decided not only to have impressive markdowns on their fabulous range of top brands – up to 75%!!! – they’re also giving KidStyleFile readers 15% off absolutely everything store-wide. Everything – no exceptions!  Sale stock, rarely discounted items, you name it – it’s all down by 15% with the code ‘BOX-THAT’ until the 1st of January 2010. This brings savings in at up to 90% off for you! You simply cannot do better!

Take a look at some of the items you can use this discount on.  For example, the Summer Sale section has a wonderful range of current season fashion from brands such as Daily Tea, Two Belles, Tommy Rocket and a lot more, and it’s all marked down by 20%.  Add the 15% off code to that, and we’re looking at around 35% off current season fashion! Crikey!  There’s also a gorgeous range of swimwear which is already reduced by 10% (so that’s around 25% off with the code) from Stella Cove and Girls 4 Sport.

The remaining stock from last summer 08/09 and last winter 09 is already reduced by a whopping 30%-75%, and with the code that brings the discounts up to around 90%!  Most things in this category will be 65% off, which is extraordinarily cheap for these top branded items.  Grab them now and put them away for next year, and come next winter or summer you’ll be incredibly grateful that you did.

The rest of the store, including the adorable Chic By Sha pettiskirts, a huge range of toys and arts & crafts from Djeco, Deglingos, Radio Flyer and Crazy Forts, kids shoes from Morgan & Milo, Lelli Kelly and Zid Zid Kids.  And that’s only just scratching the surface as it would take me weeks to list everything at WDYGT?; it’s truly a treasure trove of goodies!

So go wild, have fun and take advantage of these brilliant discounts, because they’re only available while stocks last…

Where Did You Get That? Celebrate French Brand Djeco with 10% off the Range – The KSF Team Share Our Djeco Faves

Posted: December 8th, 2009

Today’s post written by Leah

……………………………………………………………………………………………………

With Christmas just around the corner and Hanukkah at the end of the week, the celebration season is really on. It’s one of the busiest times of year with all of us fluttering around trying to organise everything and the buzz of excitement growing with anticipation.

Over at Where Did You Get That – www.wheredidyougetthat.com.au – sisters Toni and Melony they are about to celebrate a milestone of their very own: just in time for Christmas they will be showcasing over 100 Djeco products. This renown French brand produces a super range of products from puzzles to mosaics, craft products to games, mobiles to role playing activities – Djeco has something for every child.

In celebration of Djeco this Christmas Where Did You Get That? are offering all KSF readers 10% all Djeco products until 15 December 2009 using the code: FANCY-THAT.

The KSF team love Djeco and today we thought we would share some of our favourites.

1. Our fearless leader, Angela loves the Beasts Stickers “because Marc Moutavont who wrote Mouk illustrated them (I love the book and so do my kids!) and they are full of fun and personality.” She also loves the Marine World Mobile designed for Djeco by Delphine Chedru because “they really have to been to be believed: the fish really seem to be swimming and it’s a really nice big size that creates a magical effect (fantastic price, too!).”

Djeco Beast Stickers Was $4.95 LESS 10%= $4.45
Djeco Marine World Mobile Was $40.40 Now $29.04 LESS 10%=  $26.15

2. Over in England, Miki is preparing for a White Christmas. (Ooohh, I’m so envious!! I have these visions of a Dicken’s Christmas (without the Scrooge) with Carolers singing at my doorstep and yule logs on the fire.) Miki’s two favourite Djeco items are the  Knight Height Chart “because both kids and parents love tracking growth, and this chart is a fun, bright design”, and the Fish Mosaics: “I loved doing mosaics as a kid and am looking forward to introducing them to my boys. And fish are a nicely unisex subject (as opposed to fairies etc, which boys tend not to get so enthusiastic about :-P ).”

Djeco Knight Height Chart Was $37.50 Now $24.95 LESS 10% = $22.45
Djeco Fish Mosaics Was $21.95 Now $19.95 LESS 10%= $17.95

3. Edwina, our resident crafter, and mummy of 3 cheeky boys, has delighted in searching through the WDYGT Djeco range.  Her boys already have the Djeco Knights Discovery Puzzle at home: “It has nice big pieces, easy for little fingers to pick up. This 54 piece puzzle also has a great poster of the same picture which makes it easier to for the little ones to put the puzzle together.” Edwina thinks the Djeco Knights Create a Story set is the perfect accompaniment with stamps, stickers and stencils her boys “are likely to revel in creating their own Knight’s Tale!”.

Djeco Knights Discovery Puzzle $29.95 LESS 10% = $26.95
Djeco Knights Create a Story $37.40 LESS 10%=  $33.65

4. Anna is the ‘Yummy Mummy’ in our team (her coffee cup confirms it!). She has an eye for detail so it comes as no surprise that she loves a range of items from the Djeco range.  At the top of her list is the Djeco Traffic Stickers – With two boys obsessed and filled with an “unending passion for all things vehicle”,  these  score Anna “super mummy” (or super Santa even) status in their books! “They are great for using in art and craft offering lots of possibilities for streetscape creating.”

With a little girl just discovering toys, Anna’s second pick is the Djeco Maggy Shape Sorter. “Maggy is one toy that can be played with over and over and over – and one that her older brothers will enjoy playing with her too.  Maggy is a total keeper – one for a lifetime of children to enjoy.  Even when my kids are all grown up, I’ll be able to bring her out for visiting children.”

Djeco Traffic Stickers $4.95 LESS 10% = $4.45
Maggy Shape Sorter $54.95 LESS 10% = $49.45

5. Annie is basking in the holiday spirit at the moment. Another semester down and she’s closer to that accounting degree! The Djeco range is larger than life this year, but Annie and her little Princess have managed to settle on two favourites: “Djeco’s Birthday Party Tea Time Set because Tea parties are fun for little ones (and their dolls/teddy bears) and the only thing better than a tea party would be one with BIRTHDAY CAKE!” Choice two is the “Djeco Poem Tree Sticker which is reminiscent of Enid Blyton’s ‘Magic Faraway Tree’ and sure to bring some magic to any bedroom.”

Djeco Birthday Party Tea Time Was $82.50 Now $74.95 LESS 10% = $67.45
Djeco The Poem Tree Sticker $49.95 LESS 10%= $44.95

6. Choosing two of my favourite Djeco products is soooo very difficult. I don’t think there is a single item that either Miss N or Master R would like! But, by sheer willforce, I have chosen two items I think would have my two holding their breathe with excitement. Djeco Lunch with Friends is perfect for our playroom. I know both kids will love it, but I’m certain Miss N will hold a tea party or two with her dolls at this table over summer. My little boy is growing up fast. Only a year ago he was a wobbly toddler, unsteady on his feet. Today he possesses the dexterity of Da Vinci (no idea where he got those fine motor skills with such a clumsy mummy), so the Lion and Whale Mosaic is perfect for enhancing his talent.

Djeco Lunch with Friends Was $74.95 Now $69.95 LESS 10% = $62.95
Djeco Lion and Whale Mosaic Was $21.95 Now $19.95 LESS 10% = $17.95

Where Did You Get That? stock a great range of products from the following brands: Aden + Anais , Allen & Unwin Publishers, Angel Flames, Bella Tunno, Belly Art, Candela, Claesen’s Evergreens, Coco Boheme, Coo Clocks, Crazy Forts, Daily Tea, Deglingos Djeco, Ellie Bellie Kids, Enchanted Faeries, Eric Carle, Folkmanis, Foogo By Thermos, Girls 4 Sport, Goorin Brothers, Le Toy Van, Lelli Kelly, Lovenest, Manhattan Toy Company, Morgan & Milo, Radio Flyer, Star & Rose, Tango Books, Tea Collection, Tommy Rocket, Two Belles, Wagonware, Woolbabe, and Zid Zid Kids.

Under Our Tree: Edwina’s Christmas List

Posted: December 4th, 2009

Today’s post written by Edwina

……………………………………………………………………………………………………

Christmas time at our place is all about the boys. We have 3 gorgeous sons aged 8, 6 and nearly 3, so I am always on the look out for stimulating and fun toys that they will love and I will enjoy looking at.

In an effort to get organised I have been cruising the net looking for cool things to cross off the list.

My ‘nearly 3′ seems to be getting more and more active every day so first thing on my list for him is the truly unique Bilibo. Requiring no batteries and no instructions this is an open-ended toy designed to stimulate the imagination and improve motor skills (read Angela’s review of the Bilibo here).

Also on the list is the Oobi Hopper, perfect for bouncing out all the excess energy after lunch, some Pirates for the bath tub, and because he is currently in love with Spot the Dog, a few new Spot books for bedtime.

Mister 6 seems to be easiest to buy for this time, he loves indoor games and is a natural at making his own imaginary games with toys and Lego. This year I have a theme going on and it is all about Knights, Castles, Legends and Chivalry. Hopefully he will enjoy playing in these worlds and maybe one day he will grow up to be a knight in shining armour himself! My favourite finds are this castle these dragon stencils and knights stickers, and these Schleich knight figurines.

My 8 year old is definitely an outdoor kid – he loves sports – and is very into science: he is currently planning to be an ‘insect scientist’ and have his own ‘insect room’ in his future imaginary mansion.

I was recently chatting to a friend who is a Steiner teacher and she was telling me that at around age 8 they start to teach children construction and building things, which helps them gain confidence in their ability to become more independent. With this in mind I am heading off to the hardware store to pick up a tool box with some real tools and everything he needs to build a billy-cart or a box.

Also for my eldest son is this cute Dumpling Dynasty Explorer Kit, and “Blast Lab” Why Don’t Insects Get Fat?‘ – sure to be a winner based on the title alone -  a fact-book-with-insects written by Richard ‘Hamster’ Hammond from Top Gear Fame.

For my gratification our tree will this year be adorned with some new handmade and fair trade Christmas decorations from Lark, and under it will sit some cool vintage inspired Santa Sack from Cocoon Couture to hold all the loot. And because I’m a kid at heart, I’ve selected Eloise: the Ultimate Edition book just for me. Can’t wait to tear it open on the big day…

1. Oobi Hopper, Paperartzi Boutique – $29.95 $28.95
2. Alex Toys’ Pirates in the Tub, Ten Little Indians – $28.95
3. Spot Bakes a Cake, Fishpond Books – $14.99 $13.95

Where Did You Get That Daily Tea In Bigger Sizes? (Take One Guess and 20% off While You’re At It)

Posted: November 3rd, 2009

Today’s post written by Miki

……………………………………………………………………………………………………

Ooh, good news today!  Toni and Melony at Where Did You Get That? – www.wheredidyougetthat.com.au – have listened to the vast number of requests for Daily Tea in larger sizes, and they now stock the Spring/Summer 09/10 collection in sizes from 3 months right up to 5yrs!

To celebrate this, we’re being given 20% off all new season Daily Tea, along with Tommy Rocket, Two Belles and the adorable new Claesens Aqua Flower Dress!  Hurrah! The code to enter at checkout is ‘SUMMER-STYLE’, and it’s valid until the 10th of November 2009.

I really like Daily Tea.  Simple shapes, nature-inspired prints, funky colours and extremely wallet-friendly price tags make it one of the best choices for everyday wear on the market.  It’s perfect for active little people, and now with the new bigger sizing it’s perfect for slightly bigger people too!  And at 20% off it’s positively irresistable!  There’s also a big range of last season Daily Tea marked way down to half price, making the already small prices absolutely tiny.

On the topic of tiny prices, make sure you don’t go past The Grand 40% Off Sale category, which is loaded with gorgeous pieces from top designers… and every single item in there (and there’s a lot) is marked down by 40%.  We’re talking Aden + Anais, Bella Tunno and Zid Zid Kids, among others.

And speaking of sales, hotfoot it to the Super Swimwear Sale section to snap up Girls 4 Sport swimwear at up to 80% off!  Yes I am quite serious, but you can bet these prices won’t be repeated.  Just to give you one example, you can get the Girls 4 Sport Chlorine Resistant SPF 50+ Swim Tie Top for just $5, down from $24.95 – yeesh!!  And what’s more, it’s still available in a good range of colours and sizes, although at that tiny price you can bet it won’t be for long.

Discounted prices quoted below are valid with code (read above) until 10 November 2009 only.

1. Giraffe Tee – Embers, $26.95 less 20% = $21.56
2. Cheetah Tee – Cilantro, $26.95

These ones come in nice big packets of 160, with a choice of Little Fashion House, Little Juliette, Covered In Stripes, Small Beasts and Pirates, at just $4.95 per pack – absolutely ideal for stocking stuffers, or nieces and nephews.  If you want an even bigger range of stickers than this, you can go for the bumper pack containing 1000 stickers at $27.95!

Girls 4 Sport USA: Quality Swimwear for Girls

It’s almost time to start hitting the beach, the pool and the backyard for fun in the sun and the water, and that means that the search for the perfect swimwear is on.

The essential criteria for me when choosing swimwear are fit, quality and comfort with a high SPF rating.

If you have girls like me, then I can highly recommend US brand Girls 4 Sport. With a SPF rating of 50+, quality fabric and a good fit (which is still roomy enough to last us two summers) I am well pleased with my purchases – rashies in long and short sleeves, shorts and skorts – snapped up at Where Did You Get That? – www.wheredidyougetthat.com.au.

The USA-made Girls 4 Sport fabric is a thick, tight weave nylon/poly/spandex blend that exceeds the quality of any other kidswear swimsuit fabric I have seen. It’s chlorine resistant properties mean that it holds it shape and lasts longer: so far, so good for us! Another feature of note is that there is a modesty panel in all of the rashies to prevent any unwitting wet t-shirt effect.

Selected new season’s Girls 4 Sport designs are now available from Where Did You Get That?, with prices for separates ranging from $31.95-$44.95.

PS A small amount of last summer’s stock is on sale at WDYGT? for $5-15.00. I suggest you move fast!

“Where did you get that?” are five words that are sure to make our pride swell as we share the origins of our little ones newest outfit.

With that in mind, Toni and Melony of Where Did You Get That? – www.wheredidyougetthat.com.au - have developed their own little haven of select pieces and labels that are each sure to draw oohs and ahhs from your friends and strangers alike.

Always on the look out for a stylish addition to my daughter’s wardrobe, I have been dazzled by the Chic by Sha Pettiskirts which have just arrived at Where Did You Get That? and are suitable for babies right up to tweens! Vintage lace, soft chiffon and satin – oh my!

For a summer chill out by the beach or pool, check out the Girls 4 Sport swimwear range and the new ‘skort’ style swim bottoms (short skirt with built in briefs). The tested fabrics are rated at the maximum of SPF 50+ and block at least 98% of UVA/UVB rays and Chlorine resistant. Or, for cute little one-piece bathers, the new Stella Cove line up is delightful.

Finding canvas shoes for summer that are funky yet functional can be a real issue as summer approaches – enter the new season Morgan and Milo shoes which are now available in larger sizes (7.5-13).  The flame versions will ensure your poppet speeds along, or the Mary Janes is sure to make your daughter ‘sparkle’.

Are you looking at a Crazy Fort to add to the toy collection this Christmas? The  sturdy life sized construction set will entertain your kids for hours on end.  Teamed with the Crazy Fort Lights they can enclose it totally with a blanket and have their own little camp out! But be quick, stock is limited.

One of my best purchases this year has been my Foogo straw bottles, and recently the funtainers for their colorful patterns.  They keep the kidlets water cool right through the day, even when I’ve left them in the car for an hour or two! As well as stocking them, Where Did You Get That?, are now also stocking the replacement straws which guarantees ongoing use of your Foogo.

If you are interested in bargains check out the SALE section where you will find 50% off all winter and last summer fashion.  Where Did You Get That? have also added a new category: the “Grand 40% OFF SALE” where you will pick up bargains from Aden & Anais, Bella Tunno – including laminated aprons, binkers etc, some Djeco mobiles, and zid zid belts and bags.

A big attraction for me is the Super Swimwear Sale with up to 80% off last season’s styles while stocks last only!! Get your Floaties on and swim on over!

Undies, Knickers, Daks, Smalls, Jocks and Undercrackers: The Best Underwear for Kids

Posted: October 9th, 2009

Today’s post written by Miki

………………………………………………………………………………………………

Undies. Let’s face it, once we’re potty trained we all need them, and it’s a fact of life that good quality underwear is more comfortable to wear and lasts much much longer.

At last this niche in the childrenswear market is no longer empty – say hello to a range of quality undergarments for kids!

You can’t go past Aussie label Eeni Meeni Miini Moh for simple and extremely high quality boxers and briefs.  The colours change each season; this season it’s lavender and peony for girls, and crisp white and blue for boys.  Matching singlets are also available, and for my money a good quality singlet and brief set is the ideal mid-summer sleepwear for kids.

Dutch brand Claesens do great matching singlet and boxer sets for boys and girls too, in some great prints.  Boys love the camo army print, and the turquoise flower print for girls is summery, fresh and very pretty.

For an example of groovy patterns, check out US label Francie Pants.  Designed to double as dancewear over tights, Francie Pants come in a huge variety of patterns and with shipping to Australia only US$5 it’s a very viable option for something quirky and different.  You can also get matching singlets which make for great mid-summer sleepwear.

A great brand at budget-conscious prices is Smalls. Based in Melbourne and made in Europe, their products are available online and in a select number of retail stores.  Their collection features simple, high-quality briefs, boxers and singlets in multi-packs and sets at excellent prices. Spend $30.00, and receive free postage on your Smalls order.

If you prefer the cotton nearest the skin to be organic – which makes perfect sense – then I’d suggest having a look at the beautiful French brand Adri.  Available at Paris-based Little Fashion Gallery who ship to Australia, Adri is a new brand launched only this year, run by a pair of French sisters.  Using only organic cottons, their briefs and singlets feature quirky prints and come attractively boxed, making them ideal for gifting.

1. Eeni Meeni Miini Moh 2 Pack Briefs – Lavender & Peony Pink, $29.00
2. Adri ‘Slip de Pirate’ Briefs, €9.00
3. Eeni Meeni Miini Moh 2 Pack Boys Briefs – Pure White & Sailor Blue, $29.00
4. Claesens Girls Singlet – Aqua Flower, $29.95; and Claesens Girls 2 Pack Boxers – Aqua Flower, $36.95 – available online from Where Did You Get That?
5. Smalls Boys Space Brief 3 Pack, $19.95
6. Smalls Girls Bikini Brief 2 Pack, $15.95
7. Adri ‘Princesse’ 2 Pack Briefs, €17.50
8. Claesens Boys Ribbed Singlet – Army, $28.95; and Claesens Boys Boxer 2 Pack – Army, $36.95 available online from Where Did You Get That?
9, 10 & 11. Francie Pants – various designs, USD$16.50ea
